World Cup Carnival (US Gold)
Takes the trophy from Superman as easily the worst tie-up yet. The graphics are so bad, they're funny.
Smooth, big sprites, but little originality. Only for addicts of the collect-and-dodge genre.
The Price Of Magik (Level 9)
Everything in The Price of Magik is of the best - plot, parser, graphics, and above all the execution of the game.
Ghosts 'N Goblins (Elite)
Very playable and very just one-more-go-ish.
The Planets (Martech)
A novel combination of older elements (Lunar Lander, Asteroids, Moonbuggy) making up a unique whole.
Rock 'N Wrestle (Melbourne House)
Rock 'n' Wrestle didn't grab me straight away but now, after a while, I have to say I suspect I will be persevering with it.
Planter's Guide (Phoenix)
Because The Planter's Guide is so inflexible in use the package is unlikely to please either gardener or computer buff.
Splitting Images (Domark)
Very fast, very difficult and very playable. Domark back on form!
A clever idea and the unusual perspective add to the playability. Mindless fun.
As with all the Macsen TV spin-off titles, this will be of more interest if you like the programme it ties in with. I don't, but I still found it one of the more enjoyable quiz games I've played.
The Secret Of Levitation (Americana)
A weird one, this. Fun if you like tests and the levitation angle gives the the whole thing a neat lift.
Technically very good, but lacking in imagination. Sadly, it's another serious disappointment from Ultimate.
Trick Of The Tale (Central Solutions)
Zzzzz... How many of these Manic Miner lookalikes must we endure? The trick is don't buy it.
A game that's often confusing and difficult to get into with a horribly unclear status panel. When it eventually crashed, I wasn't desperately surprised and certainly felt no desire to reload.
Spiky Harold (Firebird)
Being in charge of an inebriated hedgehog is no joke and for a while you'll find he does exactly the opposite of what you command him to. I guess there are worse games.
Spindizzy (Electric Dreams)
Arguably the most enjoyable of the Marble Madness derivatives so far. Electric Dreams' best yet.
The Force (Argus Press)
Only die-hard fans of management games will be nicked by this one. Mugsy with tears.
Terrors Of Trantoss (RamJam/Ariolasoft)
Complex puzzles, an atmospheric plot and professional presentation make it a winner.
Seabase Delta (Firebird)
Leaves you with the feeling of having got value for money. Ranks well up in the cheapo games section.
Return To Ithaca (Atlantis)
A fairly basic Quilled adventure. It won't take you ten years to finish but you'll get your money's worth.
Time Of The End (Mandarin Adventures)
One of an increasing number of independently produced Quilled programs. And it's a goody.
The Snow Queen (Mosaic)
A fairytale style adventure with story book illustrations. Gentle and quite cleverly done.
The Graphic Adventure Creator (Incentive)
A very impressive and sophisticated adventure generator. Not cheap, but worth every penny.
Laser Genius (Ocean IQ)
A very powerful machine-code tool. Accessible to a beginner, sophisticated enough for a professional.
Office Master (Gemini)
Obviously not state-of-the-art but functional. Graphplot and Mailist are among the best of their type.
Four games for the price of one. Some tricky challenges make this one of the better film tie-ins.
