Gazza's Football (Empire) (Amstrad CPC464+/GX4000)

A potentially brilliant football game let down by several annoying faults.

Immensely playable, with varied challenges and subtle changes in background. Addictive in the best possible way.

Pipe Dream (Bullet-Proof) (Game Boy)

A superb Gameboy title that'll have you tearing your hair out with frustration... Incredibly addictive.

Fortress Of Fear (Acclaim) (Game Boy)

It's a shame that this features such blurry scrolling, because otherwise it's a great game. The difficulty level is nicely pitched and there's plenty of challenge.

Pac-Man (Namco) (Game Boy)

This is a reasonable conversion but the gameplay never varies and the graphics, while accurate, don't stretch the capabilities of the Gameboy at all.

The Amazing Spider-Man (LJN) (Game Boy)

This game impresses from the start with its incredible intro graphics... and the rest of the game maintains these high standards.

Hard Drivin' (Tengen) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))

The lack of decent sound, variety and long-term challenge ruin an otherwise impressive conversion. For ardent coin-op fans only.

Battle Squadron (Electronic Arts) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))

A tough and addictive vertical scroller, which could have done with some better power-up weapons. Recommended to hardened blasting freaks.
