A difficult, but enthralling game which requires lots of perseverance to complete.

Starquake (Bubble Bus)

All arcade adventurers should possess this product and any respecting games player should at least take a look.

International Karate (System 3)

The best thump-'em-up we've seen and played yet.

Ping Pong (Imagine)

The best table tennis game on the Commodore, but then it's the only one.

V (Ocean)

Very dull and very disappointing. There are more interesting things to waste your money on.

Raise The Titanic (Electric Dreams)

Very clever and original, but it might not be everyone's cup of tea and there's no way this game will be solved overnight.

Bomb Jack (Elite)

A below average game and a disappointing arcade conversion.

Spellbound (Mastertronic Added Dimension)

It's hard to justify not buying Spellbound... The Windovision system allows easy input, and a wide variety of options are available.

Doomdark's Revenge (Beyond)

An addictive and compelling episode to a great saga.

Archon II: Adept (Ariolasoft)

Though flawed and somewhat contrived, it could prove to be an interesting alternative (but not an addition) to the original.

The Force (Argus Press)

Interesting subject, but the game fails to live up to expectations... and hard to get into at first.

Knights Of The Desert (US Gold/SSI)

Is authenticity worth the lack of playability? Yes, if you're the patient type.

Kentilla (Mastertronic)

The most intriguing and incomprehensible characters... plus twelve minutes of pure, unadulterated Rob Hubbard soundtrack. Get it!

Bored Of The Rings (CRL)

As a classic, this is definitely a purchase to consider, but if you haven't got £7.95 handy, don't weep too loudly.

Ballyhoo (Infocom)

By any normal standards, the game is excellent - but is it truly excellent by the standards that Infocom have set themselves? Of that I'm not convinced.

The Pilgrim (CRL)

Better than a lot of text-only Quilled efforts, though the lengthy descriptions inevitably mean that there are fewer locations.

Spindizzy (Electric Dreams)

A helluva lot of game for your money. Exploring and mapping the hundreds of different screens is compulsive stuff.

The Comet Game (Firebird)

The simplicity and repetitive nature of the games soon makes it pall.

Empire (Firebird)

May appeal to those into this sort of thing, but don't expect too much.

Bounces (Beyond)

Sensible screen layout and lots of useful options. The two player mode offers the most challenge, but the one player option is still quite tough.

Fairlight (The Edge)

A jolly good arcade adventure which gets the grey matter clanking into action.
