Star Wars Episode 1: Obi-Wan's Adventures (THQ)
Some of the puzzles are LucasArts favourites - such as "Indiana Jones-style" floor puzzles, but generally it's a big old lightsabre shoot-'em-up which you can still get a bit of fun out of even after easily thwarting the Empire.
Xena: Warrior Princess (Titus)
There are bucketloads of RPGs on the market at the moment which are better than this, so doubtless only devotees of the TV show will forgive the game its shortcomings.
The worst crime this game commits is in how Merlin handles - poorly! Jumping is simply bad and often results in a mistimed leap into deathsville!
For the first time a Game Boy game based around a film has actually turned out well, even though it can be finished quite easily.
Power Rangers: Light Speed Rescue (THQ)
It could have been a lot worse... Its different styles of play may save you from resigning this game to the "wish you hadn't bought it" drawer of your desk!
Buzz Lightyear Of Star Command (Activision)
Buzz and Co deserve better than this! Watch the movie, buy the action figure, but you better forget about this game. Trust us on this one.
Walt Disney's Magical Racing Tour (Activision)
The racing is a straightforward side-scrolling affair with a few power-ups to pick up, but simply nothing we haven't seen before. It's all just a bit dull!
Gift's programmers were clearly big fans of Atic Atac - the game structure is the same, graphics are similar and the objective is, well, identical! This is no bad thing, though - there's lots of enjoyment to be had.
Tintin: Le Temple Du Soleil (Infogrames)
There are a few surprises of game style ahead, and it's a real challenge, even on the easy setting. However, returning to the start all the time gets annoying.
Rugrats In Paris: The Movie (THQ)
Brimming with colourful games, cute characters and not a few challenges, this has the potential to be a truly riotous romp, but the awkward control, high difficulty levels and slow pace prevent it reaching its full potential.
A game that needs to be played in the correct sequence for maximum learning but when that is done, it can be fun.
It's fun, simple and once mastered (sadly) not all that challenging but, happily, the construction area should give you plenty more hours of gaming enjoyment!
Recently there have been loads of "Mario Kart" rip-offs... but this is the most original of the bunch.
Sabrina The Animated Series: Zapped! (Nintendo)
It's all about as original as eating an egg at Easter, but it looks and sounds pretty good, and is definitely an enjoyable way of passing an hour or two.
Little Mermaid 2: Pinball Frenzy (Nintendo)
A real little winner! The cool little mini-games it reveals give a great deal of fun too.
With impressive level design and some hidden surprises, you've never seen Lego look so nice!
Attempting to marry Poke-fighting with dull platform gameplay has resulted in a bit of a prehistoric mess.
The graphics are great, and the game is big. Includes cool renders and plenty of opportunities for saves.
Hello Kitty's Cube Frenzy (Ubisoft)
Fans of the saccharine sweet little puss might get a kick out of this, but otherwise this is strictly for those with plenty of patience and well-honed spatial abilities - whoever they may be.
Maya The Bee: Garden Adventure (Acclaim)
A simple game with a storyline that will appeal to the younger Game Boy Color player, but it's not a game that's going to win any awards for originality!
Lion King: Simba's Mighty Adventure (Activision)
Although the game does not take too long to complete, it is well animated and provides some very good entertainment.
102 Dalmatians: Puppies To The Rescue (Activision)
A bit of an easy challenge but the graphics are very detailed and smooth, and the sound's okay.
