Here Kitty Kitty, come and get your Game Boy...
Hello Kitty's Cube Frenzy
Cutesy little characters just keep on invading our puzzle games. First it was pinball with Pokemon and now those charmingly wholesome little creatures from the Hello Kitty crew have infiltrated Tetris. But do they belong in the bricklayer's world?
Bye Bye Kitty
Hello Kitty's Cube Frenzy combines a number of elements to produce a game which, in theory, should be both addictive and fun. The idea is to help Kitty reach various items by stacking up blocks for her to trundle up, alternately helped or hindered by her various enemies. Place three bricks of the same coour together and they disappear, but lose track of things and you're up to your eyeballs in random bricks, with a mind-boggling - and infuriating - task ahead of you.
Kitty's Litter!
Despite having all the right factors for some scintillating gameplay, Cube Frenzy simply lacks the playability that is normally associated with games of this type. Manoeuvring blocks, planning ahead and moving Kitty all at the same time soon starts to hurt your brain, and even with a number of cute touches, the game lacks that all-essential buzz. This isn't helped by the fact that it is irritatingly difficult to predict how the blocks will move at times. Fans of the saccharine sweet little puss might get a kick out of this, but otherwise this is strictly for those with plenty of patience and well-honed spatial abilities - whoever they may be.
