Buzz is back, so let's go to infinity... nah, shove it, let's go beyond!
Buzz Lightyear Of Star Command
These days, every big feature film has its spin off. Every spin off has its own range of merchandise and every piece of merchandise has a videogame in its collection! Toy Story is no exception. Not only has that film spawned its own cartoon series starring Mr. Lightyear himself, but even this show has now got its own Game Boy Color title!
Toys 'R' Us!
In this game you control Buzz as he hops from planet to planet catching some of the most crazed criminal geniuses in the galaxy. The game is seen from a top-down perspective as you try to beat your nemesis in a race towards a finish line. Once past the line, you and your foe do battle until one of you reigns supreme. It's a rather odd idea that would have worked had it not been for the sloppy control system, which is highly infuriating to say the least!
Buzz Lightbeer
Buzz can only move forward and side to side (albeit slowly) and this makes avoiding all of the hazards and monsters nearly impossible. Those monsters, incidentally, are everywhere and all too easily suck the energy from you at quite a rate! It all gets very repetitive and quite dull very quickly.
Not even the graphics save this game because the screen is far too cluttered with blocky images to do Buzz any justice at all! It is a real shame, as Buzz and Co deserve better than this! Watch the movie, buy the action figure, but you better forget about this game. Trust us on this one... Sorry.
