Mega Sports (U. S. Gold) (Commodore 64/128)

Excellent fun... The Epyx Games series was a classic, and, like a retrospective series of Laurel and Hardy films on BBC2, Mega Sports shows why.

Ugh! (Global) (Commodore 64)

This is a very, very good touch game. The fragility of the helicopter forces you to take care when flying, so many levels are set up specifically to smash your chopper to bits with overhangs, underwater power-dives and snoring dinosaurs.

Super Cars (Gremlin) (Commodore 64/128)

Smooth, fast and very playable... Race around 27 circuits, barging, shunting and weaving to get past the guys in front.

Gunship (Kixx) (Commodore 64/128)

Smooth, fast and very playable.

Narco Police (GBH) (Commodore 64/128)

You control a load of cops, and the plan is to send them down in teams, clearing out the corridors. The game is really a bit samey. You go from player to player, blasting anything that appears in front of your guy. Er, and that's about it.

International 3D Tennis (GBH) (Commodore 64/128)

Don't let the wireframe graphics put you off. This is a great tennis game. Of course, like every bit of software with a competitive edge, it's better in two-player mode, but you can still get worked up about it when playing the computer, which varies its style and speed of play to stop things from becoming predictable.

Pro Tennis Tour (The Hit Squad) (Commodore 64/128)

It's difficult to put my finger on the exact reason, but Pro Tennis Tour doesn't feel quite right. Maybe it's too sluggish, or maybe it's just too finicky about where you've got to stand to hit the ball, but either way it doesn't come across as being quite up to scratch.

Total Recall (The Hit Squad) (Commodore 64/128)

A decent budget buy. There's plenty to see and do with a few pretty good games linked together... The platform-style affairs are playable, tough and rather pleasing to suss out. The driving bits are also fairly straightforward, but they're fast and well-coded.

Narc (The Hit Squad) (Commodore 64/128)

If you're after a game with more shooting in it than you'll find on many grassy knoll in Dallas, Narc should be right up your rifle barrel.

World Cricket (Zeppelin Games) (Commodore 64/128)

Downright boring. It's only just preferable to being forced to make your bed.

Graeme Souness Soccer Manager (Zeppelin Games) (Commodore 64/128)

With five divisions and various Cup matches to play, it's all fairly quick, nicely balanced and it does work well. It's one certainly worth having, at least if you're a fan of such things.

Elvira 2 (Flair) (Commodore 64/128)

If you're not an adventure fan, don't be fooled into thinking that, because there's no typing needed, this might be for you. It's a fully-blown adventure game and no mistake. You'll have to think logically, think hard and then, when that doesn't work, think weirdly.

Hagar The Horrible (Kingsoft) (Commodore 64)

An excellent game. It's got eight huge levels, all packed with rather weird surprises. There's a lot to do and it's a game that's crying out for mapping.

Nobby The Aardvark (Thalamus) (Commodore 64/128)

Nobby is excellent. You're guaranteed a massive seven-leveller and the graphics are great.
