Road Rash II (Electronic Arts) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
The best Megadrive road racer! A bit too similar to the original perhaps, but still delivers in the fun and excitement departments.
Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (Sega) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
An absolute gem... Superbly challenging with one player and utterly brill with two, this is a game you'll be glued to for months.
Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (Sega) (Sega Master System (EU Version))
This is definitely one of the greatest Master System games of all time.
Home Alone (Sega) (Sega Genesis)
Home Alone has plenty of potential as a decent console game, but falls well short of it. Slow, dull and repetitive, perhaps this ought to be called Leave Alone.
Special Criminal Investigations (Taito) (Sega Master System (EU Version))
A dreadful game which lacks decent graphics, enjoyable gameplay and any kind of challenge whatsoever.
Bio Hazard (Sega) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
Rock hard blasting action that's well worth buying. There are eight big levels, and tons of hard enemies... In fact, there are weeks of play, although wimps may crash out before then.
Streets Of Rage (Sega) (Sega Game Gear (EU Version))
A fun beat-'em-up which can be a bit frustrating but which still fares favourably.
Super High Impact (Arena Entertainment) (Sega Genesis)
A superbly presented American football game which is totally let down by its limited, dull and shallow action and non-existent gameplay.
Gods (Mindscape) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
A brilliant example of the arcade/adventure genre with loads of challenge - well worth purchasing... Twelve massive levels packed with tons of puzzles and some fab arcade action make this one last for ages!
James Bond 007: The Duel (Domark) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
An average game that should go do well with the Bond fans. The rest of us will live without it.
Tazmania (Sega) (Sega Master System (EU Version))
Brilliant looking, highly playable and very enjoyable - but the ridiculous amount of lives and lack of enemies means the game can be beaten in hours.
Grey Lancer (Masaya) (Sega Mega Drive (JP Version))
Calling Greylancer a shoot-'em-up is a bit misleading, as it's more of an avoid-'em-up than anything... Thunderforce III or IV, Gynoug, Bio Hazard and Hellfire are all miles better.
Twinkle Tale (Was) (Sega Mega Drive (JP Version))
A tough and enjoyable game which, although it sounds a bit wet, is one of the best blasters we've played this year.
Budokan (Electronic Arts) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
A true thinking man's beat-'em-up. A tough, but enjoyable game which is full of subtle touches.
Strider (Sega) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
Strider is still very playable today, but there's just not enough in it to warrant the £40 price tag.
Populous (Electronic Arts) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
This is still as brilliant now as it was then.
Zany Golf (Electronic Arts) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
I thought that because of the limited amount of levels, the appeal would wear off quickly, but it's a great game to load up and have a quick play of.
Fire And Forget II (Titus) (Sega Master System (EU Version))
The toughest and fastest highway blaster on the Master System.
Space Harrier (Sega) (Sega Master System (EU Version))
It's fun, but it hasn't really got enough in it to make it worthwhile for anyone other than die-hard Space Harrier fans.
Forgotten Worlds (Sega) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
Although it's still a good laugh, it doesn't compare favourably with the likes of Gynoug, Biohazard or Hellfire.
Rainbow Islands (Taito) (Sega Master System (EU Version))
This is showing its age now - the flickery graphics and the ease of the game in "easy" mode don't help much either.
Eswat (Sega) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
Looks awful and plays worse... Horrific graphics, tinkly tunes and an utter lack of challenge... Crapola!
Rambo III (Sega) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
This looks rather dated these days, and the unlimited continues knocks the lastability factor right down.
Columns (Sega) (Sega Master System (EU Version))
One game that's in a class of its own - if you haven't got it and like puzzle games, buy it now!
