Budokan

Learn the four disciplines - nunchaku, kendo, bo and karate - and fight other masters in the eponymous competition. Not so much an arcade beat-'em-up, more a fighting simulation.

What We Said Then

Jaz: Recommended to beat-'em-up fans looking for a real challenge.

Budokan: The Martial Spirit

Matt: Have a depth and sophistication rarely seen.

What We Say Now

Jaz: The lastability is a bit high, but the rest of the ratings are fine. This is a tough, but enjoyable game which is full of subtle touches. A true thinking man's beat-'em-up.

Rich: I'd agree with that - Budokan is still great. What with Street Fighter II being so popular, you'd think that Electronic Arts would release a sequel!
