This game lacks the charm of Escape or the complication of the many rooms of Atic Atac. But it's harmless enough, and fun.

If you enjoy games of strategy, then this should appeal to you.

Centipede (Play It) (Camputers Lynx)

If Play It can come up with more software of this quality for the Lynx then we will be hearing a lot more of them. I only hope that we do not have too long a wait.

One that I cannot recommend... The game is written in BASIC, and it shows!

Scuba Dive (Durell) (Spectrum 48K)

Excellent graphics... The only real drawback is when the screen is scrolled, which tends to jump into position.

Driller Tanks (Sinclair Research) (Spectrum 48K)

The on-screen graphics are good although the animation is rather slow and jerky.

Krocatile Waltz (Superior) (Oric 48K/Atmos)

Considering the price and the Oric's capabilities the graphics could have been a little smoother but the music is pure jungle, almost hypnotic.

Rather a hit and miss affair.

You might think it's all very easy, but the obstacles provide for a fair challenge.

Beam Rider (Microdeal) (Dragon 32)

Quite a good game... You get extra points for hitting an energizer too.

Matching Pairs (Cases Computer Simulations) (Spectrum 48K)

Seven successive levels of difficulty, ranging from differences in colour only, to differences in colour and pattern.

Les Flics (PSS) (Spectrum 48K)

A straightforward adventure, but a real graphic one where you have to physically pick up objects and kill policemen. Not my favourite, though a step ahead of standard arcade games.

3D Space Wars (Hewson Consultants) (Dragon 32)

A well-written game, but I'm a bit tired of "shoot-'em-up" games. I became bored usually after I had scored 120 but, to the space-invader game fanatic, it's a good game.

1984 (Incentive) (BBC Model B)

A very professional program. Could well be suitable for use in an educational environment too.

Maziacs (DK Tronics) (Commodore 64)

Three levels give you chance to die quicker since there is less food, swords and prisoners to sustain and assist you.

Commodore Plus/4 (Commodore) (European Machines)

An excellent Basic, keyboard, software built in and - best of all - a vast amount of user memory. Only time will tell with this computer, as it is carving a new area in the market.

Bismark (Argus Press) (Spectrum 48K)

The time is split into turns and overall there are thirteen turns until the fleet must refuel.

Monsters And Magic (Interactive Software People) (BBC Model B)

Takes the role-playing game into new areas of complexity and, although text only, can prove exciting in the challenge it presents.

West (Talent) (Commodore 64)

The game is well constructed and thought out but rather quirky. Still, adventurers are a quirky bunch.

Planetfall (Argus Press) (Spectrum 48K)

A good buy for strategy fanatics. The graphics are superb too.

Battle For Midway (Classic Conflicts) (Spectrum 48K)

When I saw the title, I thought, great, another Beach Head. It isn't, and with such poor graphics and lack of action I could not really get into it.

Stuart Henry's Pop Quiz (Bellflower) (Spectrum 48K)

A good quiz for a pop music lover.

Apart from the last game this tape represents quite good value for money, for anyone who likes a gentle mind puzzle as opposed to an arcade game.
