If you like driving games and are willing to spend £50 then this is a good addition to the Colecovision.

A nice device but I think it is a matter of personal preference whether one of these will do you any good.

It's a faithful version of the original with good graphics. But it's been so long coming that it feels unexciting compared to more recent games. Check it out for nostalgia value.

Pottit (Romik) (Commodore 64)

An extremely addictive game... The graphics have been kept simple so as to avoid confusion with the scoring and the way in which points are awarded as bonuses.

Classic Adventure (Melbourne House) (Spectrum 48K)

Great fun for any adventurer whether a beginner or experienced.

War 70 (Cases Computer Simulations) (Spectrum 48K)

Disappointing... The graphics are fiddly and difficult to look at for any time. All movement at the battlefield level is by way of inputting XY co-ordinates which is very laborious - and not helped by the fact that the program asks for XY input but actually expects YX input!

Laserwarp (Mikro-Gen) (Spectrum 48K)

The designers have crammed too much activity onto each screen with the result that the graphics are largely fiddly and not very easy on the eyes.

Diamonds (English) (Atari 400)

A colourful game with good quality sound. A pleasant change to the familiar invader-type game.

Arcturus (Visions) (Spectrum 48K)

Great possibilities for those who like a challenge... but it requires patience and fast reactions.

Timebomb (CDS) (Spectrum 16K)

I found this game very addictive.

The Trap (IMS Software) (Spectrum 16K)

A total waste of time. It's one of those games that you play once and get totally browned off and maddened about. It's about as addictive as counting grains of sand on the beach.

Microbot (Softek) (Spectrum 48K)

A simple game in principle, highly playable in practice.

Ostron (Softek) (Spectrum 16K)

It's fun enough to play... but it'll provide little challenge for an arcade veteran.

Creepy Crawler (Mikro-Gen) (Spectrum 16K/48K)

Really this program is quick and good fun, as long as you don't take it too seriously and just enjoy it.

Communist Mutants From Space (Starpath Corporation) (Atari 2600)

An average "space invader" game which doesn't live up to its wonderful title. The usual shooting and exploding noises can be heard, and the graphics are fairly good.

Frogger (Starpath Corporation) (Atari 2600)

An average arcade game, but with better graphics than some other Frogger versions available.

Slither (CBS Electronics) (Coleco Vision Games System)

The graphics are excellent. I liked this game because of its originality and the colourful screen, and because of these factors all ages will enjoy playing it.

Pit Stop (CBS Electronics) (Coleco Vision Games System)

A fairly exciting and enjoyable game to play. Certainly, a good buy if you own the driving module.

Zaxxon (CBS Electronics) (Atari 2600)

A fairly average, zap-the-enemy arcade game.

Thunderhawk (Lyversoft) (Spectrum 48K)

Basically another version of the old favourite Phoenix, but it's a highly effective, appealing and addictive implementation of the game.

Caverunner (English) (Atari 400/800/600XL/800XL/130XE)

The superb graphics, colours and sounds of the Atari are well used... Another top-selling game from English Software.

Defender (Mikro-Gen) (Spectrum 48K)

Slow and very boring... You just fly aimlessly around... The mountains don't even stop you, you just fly straight through them without harm!

Perseus And Andromeda (Channel 8) (Acorn Electron)

Tremendous fun and very addictive. I would not, however, recommend it for a novice adventurer since it requires at least a little experience in the art of adventuring... A knowledge of Greek mythology would come in useful too.

Caesar The Cat (Mirrorsoft) (Spectrum 48K)

Difficult but also great fun. The graphics are very amusing and Caesar himself is the centrepiece.

Digger Dan (Ocean) (Spectrum 16K)

An enjoyable game for arcade enthusiasts which incorporates a challenging high score.

Kong (Ocean) (Spectrum 48K)

A lot of fun... One of the few games that gives the satisfaction of being able to finally defeat something at the end instead of simply attaining a higher score.

Spectipede (R&R) (Spectrum 16K)

A well-implemented, very playable game.

Dr Franky And The Monster (Virgin Games) (Spectrum 48K)

Reminds me of Donkey Kong in terms of the way you move around the screen and it is a very attractive, easily-picked-up-but-increasingly-challenging game to play.

Donkey Kong (Atarisoft) (TI99/4A)

By TI standards, it's exceptional. In ROM cartridge form it seems expensive, but when you discover the quality of this game you'll see why it's worth it.

Eskimo Eddie (Ocean) (Spectrum 48K)

Interesting to begin with... but I quickly lost interest.

Cruise Attack (Mikro-Gen) (Spectrum 48K)

A good variation of Missile Command. It's fun, provides a challenge and it's also one of these games that gets better the more you play.
