Although at first the game seemed difficult, after a short while you are able to anticipate relatively accurately where the cars will appear and you can dart around the screen and deal with the mission in hand.

Invaders (Arcadia) (Oric 48K/Atmos)

These games really need no introduction and this version isn't the most exciting game I've ever played. Mind you, it loads very easily - and that's a big plus if you're an Oric owner!

Laser Command (Micro Power) (BBC Model B)

Although this game is slightly mystifying at first, it proved to be extremely playable.

Splat! (Incentive) (Spectrum 48K)

Graphically well-presented and a pleasure to play.

Chopper (Sumlock) (Commodore Vic 20)

I would recommend most games players take a good look at this one as it is fun to play.

Ship Of The Line (Richard Shepherd) (Commodore 64)

An interesting game with good sound and graphics. However, having to put all instructions in text form soon becomes tedious.

Attack Of The Mutant Camels (Llamasoft) (Commodore 64)

The action is very fast-moving and the game adopts excellent use of graphics and sound.

Ultima Zone (Tansoft) (Oric 48K)

The concept is rather different from most arcade games. But, having played it a few times and mastering the play technique, I honestly found it boring.

Multigames 2 (Tansoft) (Oric 16K)

Tansoft are to be commended for this value-for-money compendium.

Penny Slot (Interceptor Micros) (Commodore Vic 20)

Good value, demonstrating the graphic abilities of your VIC.

Donkey Kong Junior (CBS Electronics) (Coleco Vision Games System)

Regular Donkey Kong players say that this version of the arcade original is very good, and reasonably faithful to it. Definitely one for all the familiar to have a go at.

Tutankham (Parker Brothers (USA)) (Atari 2600)

Eight game selections with four different levels of difficulty in each selection. Raiders Of The Lost Ark meets Adventure so, if you've already got those two, this will hold no surprises... except for the vicious turtles!

Q-Bert (Atarisoft) (Atari 2600)

A test of your memory as much as manual dexterity, but providing it isn't taken seriously, the effects won't be permanently damaging!

Space Fury (CBS Electronics) (Coleco Vision Games System)

Although the game's concept is rather different, there was something lacking in the addictive aspect of it.

Return Of The Jedi: Death Star Battle (Parker Brothers) (Atari 2600)

The Atari's blocky graphics are quite suited to the portrayal of next-century hardware, so this game is bags of fun.

Johnny Reb (Lothlorien) (Dragon 32)

A good wargame but historically pretty inaccurate. The artillery is incredibly powerful (which it actually wasn't) and it's also invariably accurate (which it also wasn't).
