Disco Screen (Ash Products) (Spectrum 48K)
The effect was better than I thought it would be and speaking as an ex-DJ I would be more than happy to use it. The trouble is it has bugs, and often stops with an 'Integer out of range' message!
Know Your Own Personality (Mirrorsoft) (Spectrum 48K)
The usual 'question and answer' thing you find inside magazines occasionally. You have to add up your score at the end and then you are told something you already knew in the first place.
Strip Poker (Knightsoft) (Spectrum 48K)
I realise this game is a bit of a novelty, but it would stand up on its own for the poker alone.
Car Cure (Simtron) (Spectrum 48K)
The whole program is menu-driven and is very easy to use. The database holds 800 faults and 300 symptoms.
Bizzicom (Merlin) (Spectrum 48K)
See this program working before you buy it, and see if it suits your business.
Spectrum Lessons (Spectrum 48K)
Select an area which gives you difficulty and worth through some of these programs - they are bound to help. Now all I have to do is await the results of the examinations.
Alien (Argus Press) (Spectrum 48K)
Embraces features of both strategy games, and adventure, with the addition of a little horror. Top marks!
Clueso (Imperial) (Spectrum 48K/128K)
This game is recommended - as long as you know your French!
Spiderman (Adventure International) (Spectrum 48K)
The graphics representations of locations and of Spiderman's enemies are nothing short of stunning, but the game is not of good enough quality to support the graphics, and certainly doesn't do them justice.
An Introduction To Programming The Sinclair QL (Babani) (Sinclair QL)
It is not a badly written book, and the format is still a good one. It is simply deficient, and so of little value.
The Sinclair QDOS Companion (Sunshine) (Sinclair QL)
Readers will require a knowledge of Operating System principles and machine code, as well as a few ideas on how they wish to use their knowledge, in order to get the best from this book.
Introducing The Sinclair QL (Hutchinson) (Sinclair QL)
Some of the information in the book is pertinent and useful, but equally, some is just waffle.
Starion (Melbourne House) (Spectrum 48K)
The graphics are perspective vector type but the movement is truly superb, it takes a lot to make an impression on us battle hardened reviewers but we were impressed!
Confuzion (Incentive) (Spectrum 48K)
A wide variety of options and a well balanced playing level makes it easy to start playing and difficult to stop.
Tapper (US Gold) (Spectrum 48K)
A nicely presented game, with some good options... The graphics are pretty good but some movements are a little jerky.
Charlie And The Chocolate Factory (Hill MacGibbon) (Spectrum 48K)
I found that I enjoyed playing these games, but lacked the inspiration to go for the ultimate solution. Not bad if you consider it to be a pack of cut price games.
Battle For Midway (PSS) (Spectrum 48K)
I would think that experienced wargamers will enjoy the challenge this game provides and the novice will find it an easy game to begin with.
Archon (Ariolasoft) (Spectrum 48K)
Archon is a game that takes a while to grasp but which will be played long after most others will have been forgotten.
Transformers (ACS) (Spectrum 48K)
Using this program is very simple, select the program you wish to transfer from the menu and play your original tape to transfer it to microdrive.
Give My Regards To Broad Street (Argus Press) (Spectrum 48K)
Another game for those who like to think fast while playing a furious arcade game. Recommended.
Jonah Barrington's Squash (New Generation) (Spectrum 48K)
It's fast, furious and, with clever, well animated graphic characters, the game is all an armchair Squash player could desire.
Shadowfire (Beyond) (Spectrum 48K)
This is brilliant! But it's also complex, so I recommend you read the manual in detail and very carefully.
Cauldron (Palace) (Spectrum 48K)
Flying the Hag on her broomstick is the most enjoyable part of the game. She can also fire bolts at the ghosts, bats, etc, which attack her.
Nodes Of Yesod (Odin) (Spectrum 48K/128K)
Nodes isn't really state of the art, but it is a very well designed game and very enjoyable.
Dun Darach (Gargoyle Games) (Spectrum 48K)
The richly imaginative and detailed background to the game makes Dun Darach an absorbing and satisfying game for anyone that wants to do more than simply zap aliens.
ZX Hi-Res Toolkit (Stefan Schmidt) (Sinclair ZX81)
I was very impressed with this toolkit, in particular, the ease with which it can be used.
5D Compendium (5D Programs) (Sinclair ZX81)
A reasonable cassette. None of the twelve programs is original or breaks new ground, however the cassette might well serve as a cheap introduction for the beginner.
Bridgehead (5D Programs) (Sinclair ZX81)
Bridgehead is a long game, and progress at times seems rather tedious, but it works well and the graphic display of the island adequately illustrates the progress of play.
Galactic Trooper (Romik) (Sinclair ZX81)
The action is good, and effective use is made of the ZX81 graphics for the display.
Lightmagic: Graphics Designer (New Generation) (Spectrum 48K)
An exceptionally well-produced manual and a powerful and impressive piece of software.
