Chariot Race (Micro-Antics) (Commodore Vic 20)
This is a superb game for one or two players... Realistic sound and good graphics - all squeezed into the unexpanded Vic - marvellous!
Wunda Walter (Interceptor Micros) (Commodore Vic 20)
A first rate, fun game full of colour and even a scrolling commentary.
Squish! (Palace) (Commodore Vic 20)
Eminently playable, with twenty levels and the promise that the bugs become invisible on the real toughies.
Caverns Of Khafka (US Gold/Cosmi) (Commodore 64)
I feel ambivalent about this one. It is original and atmospheric but it certainly has its flaws.
Cassette 50 (Cascade) (Commodore 64)
These programs are very much on the basic level and as such are really only suitable for the younger members of the family.
Daley Thompson's Decathlon (Ocean) (Commodore 64)
After this program had given me a workout I was utterly sick of it.
The Dallas Quest (Datasoft) (Commodore 64)
The presentation is very impressive, not only graphically and musically but also in the sense of humour which has been injected into what might at first seem a mediocre scenario.
Flak (US Gold/Funsoft) (Commodore 64)
There are two skill levels described as beginner and normal. Impossible and suicidal would be more fitting: this is one tough game!
Grabber (Microdeal) (Commodore 64)
To rack up a hefty score on the latter, some nifty board switching is needed as there are plenty of dead ends in each maze.
Interdictor Pilot (Supersoft) (Commodore 64)
There's an endless stream of missions on offer; things can only get better as your prowess improves and you opt for longer flights.
Percy The Potty Pigeon (Gremlin) (Commodore 64)
Hmm... Snatching nesting material from the jaws of death doesn't seem very substantial fare to me, even through ten levels.
Getting The Most From Your Vic 20 (Prentice-Hall) (Commodore Vic 20)
This does not really contain enough to make it a good buy and would not have been three years ago.
Blast Off With Basic Games For Your Vic 20 (Prentice-Hall) (Commodore Vic 20)
This book is worth a look if you really are interested in games and eventually want to write your own.
Getting The Most From Your Vic 20 (Penguin) (Commodore Vic 20)
The best book to be written on the Vic-20 to date.
Mastering The Vic 20 (Prentice Hall) (Commodore Vic 20)
The first few chapters were reasonable and did manage to whet the appetite, but the remainder is very disappointing and, considering the price, is not very informative or instructive.
The Last Vic 20 Book In The World (Sigma) (Commodore Vic 20)
The only criticism is the title, and hopefully this will not be the last book in the world for the Vic!
