James Pond 2 RoboCod (Millennium) (Commodore 64/128)
Brimming with humour and as fast as any platform-style game you'll find around at the moment. The size of it is immense; as big as the Amiga version, and with all the same things in.
Biff (Beyond Belief) (Commodore 64/128)
If you're a Dizzy fan, you'll love this. Not very taxing, pretty big and with lots to see, it'll keep you occupied for a fair while.
Dylan Dog (Simulmondo) (Commodore 64/128)
It's a big game, but there isn't much to keep you sticking with it, and the pace seems rather slow. But having said that, it isn't as rubbish as you would first think, especially once you manage to start puzzling the twists out.
Jimmy's Soccer Manager (Beyond Belief) (Commodore 64/128)
One of the better management sims. It's easy to play, the controls are well thought out and you don't have to remember millions of different key presses.
DJ Puff's Volcanic Caper (Codemasters) (Commodore 64/128)
Great stuff... It's a lot of fun, in the same vein as Nobby The Aardvark and Hudson Hawk with big sprites, tons of colour and plenty of cartoony action.
Puzznic (The Hit Squad) (Commodore 64/128)
You know how when you play some games, you forget about everything else in your life? Well, that happened to me when I was playing Puzznic.
After Burner (The Hit Squad) (Commodore 64/128)
Not very exciting. In fact, it's about as riveting as watching the Open University foundation course module 6, Geology All Around Us.
MicroProse Soccer (Kixx) (Commodore 64/128)
A pleasant game. Good as a two-player game... But the computer isn't bad at all, and you can have jolly old kickabout with the greatest of ease.
Puffy's Saga (The Hit Squad) (Commodore 64/128)
A sort of puzzley, mazey, arcadey effort. It's not packed with trillions of baddies, all rushing around at once, but it's fun and playable, and will see you happily at your C64 on the sunniest days.
Crack Down (Kixx) (Commodore 64/128)
It's fast, it's violent and there's a completely excellent split-screen, two-player option, where you and a friend can jointly annihilate each level! Shame about the small screen.
Castle Master (The Hit Squad) (Commodore 64/128)
Fab! It's not really a blasting game, Castle Master is a spookily atmospheric little thing. It's about a million times cheaper than buying a real castle, and you're guaranteed of seeing some ghosts as well.
Skate Wars (The Hit Squad) (Commodore 64/128)
The graphics aren't much cop - they're big but not particularly clear, and you won't really enjoy looking at them for long. And the action is rather boring as well. You tend to fall over too often, and knock over the other guy a lot. And that's about it really.
Escape From The Planet Of The Robot Monsters (The Hit Squad) (Commodore 64/128)
Not exactly a corker, but the 3D business works fairly well (although it can sometimes be annoying when you misjudge it).
Spellbound Dizzy (Codemasters) (Commodore 64/128)
As good as any other Dizzy game around, with all the usual traps and puzzles.
Bug Bomber (Global) (Commodore 64/128)
It's quick, lively and, although all the sprites are small, they're well animated and move around nicely... And the absolute best thing is that you can play against up to three other players!
The Lineker Collection (Kixx) (Commodore 64/128)
There aren't any rubbish games on the compilation. Hot Shot is a fast and furious game with clear graphics. Italy 1990 has a brilliant team and squad selection sequence, with the proper World Cup feel to it. And Superskills is, erm, different.
Euro Football Champ (Domark) (Commodore 64/128)
Euro Football Champ isn't as good as Kick Off 2. It's slower and much simpler to play. Keeping possession and stuff like that is handled better, but it's just too jerky (and there's no aftertouch or replay system). Pity, because it could have been the best thing since Jackie Charlton.
