Linked reviews are available to view in full on this site.
Outworld (Durome) (Spectrum 48K)
A pleasant, simple game... Recommended, and at least you can win occasionally.
Hocus Focus (Quicksilva) (Spectrum 48K)
Playing the game took a little practice, perseverence was rewarded though as the game is worth sticking with.
The Secret Of Levitation (Americana) (Spectrum 48K)
But this if you want something different, are easily satisfied or want an expensive way of purchasing tape to record on.
Spikey Harold (Firebird) (Spectrum 48K)
A Manic Miner clone... I found it quite difficult to actually get started but, once the initial problems were solved then the desire to go further was rather strong.
Wordsearch And Challenge (AZED) (Spectrum 48K/128K/+2/+3)
A very reasonable product which is a must for all cerebral linguists.
Delta Wing (Mastertronic) (Spectrum 48K)
Simulation purists may not like the combat routines and arcade addicts may not like the amount of simulation, but personally I loved it!
Twister (System 3) (Spectrum 48K)
A game that will appeal to a wide variety of Spectrum gamers, from the die-hard shoot-'em-up fan to an arcade/adventurer with an itchy trigger finger!
Counting On QL Abacus (Babani) (Sinclair QL)
If you have difficulty getting to grips with the QL Abacus manual then this is a superb introduction.
Alien Highway (Vortex) (Spectrum 48K)
If you've got Highway Encounter then you might be reluctant to shell out more money for a game that is so similar, but if you haven't played the earlier game then Alien Highway is a classy and challenging shoot-'em-up.
Kirel (Addictive Games) (Spectrum 48K)
Manages to mix all these old ingredients and come up with a brand new recipe that's highly addictive and deserves to rival the success of Football Manager.
Echo Keyboard (HCCS) (Spectrum 48K/128K/+2/+3)
Well worth buying and exceptional value for money.
Music Typewriter (Romantic Robot)
Wham! The Music Box (Melbourne House) (Spectrum 48K)
A very useful and interesting program, especially if you have an external amp/beep booster attached.
The Music Box (Melbourne House) (Spectrum 128K)
This program should appeal to both the budding Beethovens out there or the games writer who wants to add the extra ingredient of music to give the final polish to their gleaming creation.
Laser Genius (Ocean IQ) (Spectrum 48K)
A first-class package, straight-forward enough for the beginner and versatile enough for the expert.
Stonechip Keyboard (Stonechip Electronics)
68FX Keyboard (LMT)
Questprobe 3: The Fantastic Four (US Gold) (Spectrum 48K/128K)
Questprobe 3 is not a bad game in itself, but when compared with products like Level 9 games, or even some budget titles, it is weak.
Valkyrie 17 (RamJam) (Spectrum 48K)
Great fun and remains one of my favourite Spectrum adventures.
Castle Thead (Adventure Exchange Club) (Spectrum 48K/128K)
The puzzles and text are excellent, sadly marred by the amateur presentation.
Pentagram (Ultimate) (Spectrum 48K)
A return to the Knight Lore format, rather than the style of Nightshade and Gunfright.
The Planets (Martech) (Spectrum 48K/128K)
For those who like plenty of challenges in a game this comes highly recommended for its physical and mental challenges as well as its superb graphics.
Biggles (Mirrorsoft) (Spectrum 48K)
Games based on films and TV series have, deservedly on the whole, gotten a lot of bad reviews and I wasn't expecting all that much from this one, but Mirrorsoft have come up with one of the better tie-in games.
Rock 'N Wrestle (Melbourne House) (Spectrum 48K/128K)
If you are a grappling connoisseur, it's definitely for you and even if you aren't it may still exert an addictive hold over you.
The Young Ones (Orpheus) (Spectrum 48K)
Fans of the TV series will love it and have a distinct advantage over those who have never seen it before.
M-Drive Doctor (Pipeq Systems)
Spindizzy (Electric Dreams) (Spectrum 48K)
If you want a game that is going to last, and yet is immediately playable, Spindizzy is most definitely for you!
Designer Character Designer (GAP) (Spectrum 48K)
If creative posters, magazines or artwork (albeit simple) is an area which you want to delve into then try these programs.
Superbowl (Ocean) (Spectrum 48K)
This simulation, because it is well presented and simple to get to grips with, will, if persevered with, help you to understand and enjoy the real thing to a greater extent.
