The Secret Of Levitation

I have seen some good programs, some not-so-good programs hyped as brilliant programs and some that were very dubious value programs. This is one of the latter. I can only describe it as a novelty program and it should be avoided by all arcade, adventure and strategy fans.

The program is actually nine simple little variations on the reaction/observation programs which were all you could cram into a ZX81 in Basic in the "good" old days. Admittedly they have been tarted up to use the graphics, sound and colour of the Spectrum, but at heart they are still in this category.

The nine games are pretentiously titled Rapid Reaction, Vibrant Vision, Hand/Eye Harmony, Peak Perception, Mind/Body Mastery, Agile Alertness, Inner Integration, Reliable Recall and Fluent Function. The best thing I can say is that at least the author shares my love of alliteration!

The Secret Of Levitation

All these "games" are played against the clock and can be selected individually from the main menu. Scores for each section are kept as you proceed.

So, when you you start to levitate and how? Well I am afraid that *you* don't, but at the end of each section you are shown a cross-legged meditating man who rises to a height dependent on your score for the event. Also from the main menu an option 'L' takes you to a display of the individual scores for each section and a graphic levitation chart shows them for you. Many of the games go on for far too long, especially Mind/Body and Vibrant Vision sections.

But this if you want something different, are easily satisfied or want an expensive way of purchasing tape to record on. It may be better to stay down to earth and keep your feet on the ground!
