Undeniably similar to Sim City, but this is set in the future and is more interesting.

MiG-29M SuperFulcrum (Domark)

Superb flying and fighting action, with all the original MiG-29's controllability. A great game with bags of excitement and tension.

Cruise For A Corpse (Delphine)

Two key elements which make a game are gameplay and music. However, the game itself is about as much fun as operating a graphical spreadsheet - and about as confusing. After about two hours of playing you're desperate for the hint book and looking for a way out.

Terminator 2 (Ocean)

It has excellent graphics and fluid animation... But it isn't much fun to play.

The Adventures Of Robin Hood (Millennium)

Despite its boasting, Robin Hood doesn't have the flexibility or the graphics to live up to its claims. Not a complete failure, but disappointing.

Elf (Ocean)

It's refreshing to find a platform game that keeps you occupied for more than ten minutes, yet has wonderful graphics and addictive gameplay.

OutRun Europa (U. S. Gold)

A waste of time. OutRun Europa doesn't deserve a first look, let alone a second. Almost any other racing game is better than this - except OutRun itself.

The James Bond Collection (Domark)

Other compilations are a bargain. This one isn't. Even the most die-hard Bond fans will sleep well without this in their collection.

Face Off (Anco)

Hockey may be fast, exciting and violent in real life, but this portrays it as an irritating game where you never know where the puck is.

The Blues Brothers (Titus)

This is a fast, and even furious platformer, with cute cartoon-style graphics... Whilst it's ok, it doesn't tie up well with the film and, for a game based on a musical film, even the soundtrack is disappointing.

The Charge Of The Light Brigade (Impressions Ltd)

With quite a bit more speed and a few more command options, it would have been a great strategy game, but as it stands it's just mediocre.

Vroom (Lankhor)

One of the best racing games in a long time. Buy it, you won't be disappointed!

Shadow Sorcerer (Strategic Simulations Inc)

An official Dungeons & Dragons adventure, so it's unnecessarily complicated... If you're au fait with D&D, you could enjoy this game for months - it's definitely big enough.

England Championship Special (Grandslam)

The team selection business is fun, but it doesn't elevate the game to great heights. It's fast but just not playable enough.

Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade (Kixx)

You want a platform game? Then go and buy another one - they're all better than this!

Moonfall (21st Century Entertainment)

A non-starter. It's based on Elite, but without the gameplay, excitement or addictiveness.

Evilution (Nigma)

Pleasantly surprising... Despite the fact that Evilution's display really isn't all that hot - there aren't any fancy icons or pull-down menus, for example - the plot is very well-engineered, logical and none too difficult to get into.

Darkman (Ocean)

Batman-style walk along cum beat-'em-up with inferior Operation Wolf scenario. It's one of those games you just can't be bothered with.

Football Director 2 (D&H Games)

This type of game has already been done to death. What's more, this version has no notable improvements over the prehistoric Football Manager (or any of the other billion or so clones).

Final Fight (US Gold)

So, the plot wouldn't tax the brain of an anteater and the action is as repetitive as - well, as being hit on the head a lot. But what's there is good fun. And in the end, Brian, that's all that matters.

Rodland (Storm)

A ridiculous plot, obviously cute and plays like a dream... Nice in short doses, but don't expect anything too engrossing.
