Since your face has been horribly disfigured by a gangster, it's only natural that you should want to seek revenge. Luckily, you just happen to be the cleverest scientist on Earth, and have invented a machine to help disguise you as anybody you choose.
The first thing for you to do is take pictures of people you need to imitate in the forthcoming level. Aim the camera, Operation Wolf style, over your subjects as they appear in windows. You've got 20 shots to play with, but time is limited...
After this, having donned your disguise, it's time to go out into the streets and beat lots of people up. The reasons for doing this are varied, but most of the levels have a "run along and give 'em a good kicking while you're at it" type of scenario.
Verdict
Darkman is fairly typical when it comes to movie licences - a couple of based-on-the-film sequences strung together with a pretty pointless sub-game. Even if you do get all the pictures you need, each disguise only lasts about thirty seconds anyway. The scrolling is fairly smooth and the graphics aren't too bad, but some of the animation's a bit dodgy. The gameplay is somewhat lacking, and, though not particularly irritating, it's one of those games you just can't be bothered with.
