Football Director 2

Is there any end to the countless stream of football management sims? Football Director 2 is a revamped version of one such game that was actually originally released a couple of years ago. It runs pretty much to the same format as any other footie game that's ever been released - that is, having to balance the books and keep your team happy, win lots of matches and gain promotion.

There's not a lot to look at - apart from screenfuls of boring text, of course. There's little in the way of graphics. Most of the screens are dull, text-only affairs.

Verdict

This game style has been done to the death. What's more, Football Director 2 doesn't seem to be any better than anything that has already gone before it.

If you like this sort of game, then the chances are that you have half a dozen or so already in your collection - but, if that's the case, you may be mad enough to add another one that's exactly the same as all the others.

In Brief

  1. Double-sided drives only
  2. No notable improvements over the prehistoric Football Manager (or any of the other billion or so clones).
