Frank 'N Stein (PSS) (Spectrum 48K)
100% all round. Very impressive, addictive and enjoyable; it even exercises your brain!
Uncle Claude (Alligata) (BBC Model B)
A game of worker against boss, capitalism against socialism... but it really is an arcade style game too.
Stickman Olympics (Avalon Computing) (Spectrum 48K)
I think that polishing the program ran second to catching the market here.
Birds Of Prey (Romik) (Acorn Electron)
Died in the wool arcade alien-bashers might like this sort of game but it is thoroughly unremarkable in almost every way.
Graphically, the game is clever, though it can be upset by illegal keypresses.
Simple Music Program (Stainless) (TI99/4A)
Documentation is sparse but adequate, although the program may have limited appeal due to its requirement of an expensive system.
Home Budget (Amsoft) (Amstrad CPC464)
Excellent... I will be using this to keep my bank account in the black this year.
Answer Back Junior Quiz (Kosmos) (BBC/Electron)
A good, interesting and flexible game but I wouldn't claim that it is too educational, just fun!
Ancient And Royal (Mathay) (TI99/4A)
A comprehensive and generally well-thought-out game, although there are one or two things which need attention.
Physics (Optics) (Camel) (Spectrum 48K)
Calculations teaches 1/V + 1/U + 1/F and V/U + I/S and sets examples to ensure they are understood - unfortunately another bug has appeared: 3th set?
Serpent's Lair (Comsoft) (Acorn Electron)
A pleasant first adventure in every way. Well done, Comsoft!
The Last Jedi (Amazing Games) (Spectrum 48K/128K)
Slow and tedious... Lightsabre is misspelt throughout.
Holdfast (Kuma Computers) (Amstrad CPC464)
A good, non-violent, thinking game of moderate interest.
Return Of The Ring (Wintersoft) (Dragon 32)
A difficult adventure to solve but not to play and for this reason I do not recommend it for the faint-hearted.
Dune Rider (Micro Power) (BBC Model B)
The graphics are great and the game has that fascinating quality which leads to compulsion.
Paranoid Pete (Ubik) (BBC B/B+/Master 128)
Smashing graphics... Only lacks variation, the different levels leading to more of the same rather than great changes of concept.
Atom Smasher (Romik) (Amstrad CPC464)
Most attractive and interesting... If you have time to glance to the sides of the screen, there are fuel and temperature indicators.
