The pieces are represented by graphic shapes and co-ordinates are entered to move them.

Dartz (Automata) (Spectrum 48K)

Lasting appeal is doubtful... You can miss a turn because of the stage collapsing under Eric's enormous weight or through a sudden urge to go to the toilet... So Dartz ceases to be a test of skill.

Mission Alphatron (Continental) (Memotech)

Mission Alphatron is quite addictive - one of the better Memotech games released so far.

Carlo The Clown (Calpac Computer) (Spectrum 48K)

Some pictures are of dubious graphics quality, and at the end Pop Goes The Weasel plays to accompany how many mistakes have been made.

Continental Raiders (Continental) (Memotech)

If Memotech must revive old game ideas there's really no excuse for doing it this sloppily.

Totaliser (B. Jackson) (TI99/4A)

In the time taken to load and run the program then enter the numbers you could have checked and re-checked answers obtained from a calculator.

Blockbuster (Computertutor) (Spectrum 48K)

You can quit at any time - or save it on tape to finish at another session - and are then offered replay or end program facilities.

Chemical Analysis (Acornsoft) (BBC Model B)

The cassette comes with a booklet with a well documented teachers' and students' notes pull-out sheet.

Account Book (Softbacks) (Oric 48K)

For those with an interest in financial planning and record-keeping, organising the loading and saving required for this utility should come readily.

Program Index (B. Jackson) (TI99/4A)

A useful and well-designed program, although I would prefer a more flexible format so that the user could designate names and lengths of files for other forms of record-keeping.

War Of The Worlds (CRL) (Spectrum 48K)

More reliant on luck than judgement... Finding your way is very difficult.

Tim Love's Cricket (Peaksoft) (Dragon 32)

An exceptional game which will thrill fanatics and others.

Jack And The Beanstalk (Thor) (Spectrum 48K)

Frustrating but challenging, if you want a difficult action game this can certainly be recommended.

I can't see who would be interested in this game. It's terribly dull.

Bubble Buster (Sinclair Research) (Spectrum 48K)

Bubble Buster is challenging at first, but I doubt it will hold interest for long because there's so little variety.
