If you fancy a quiet cruise down a lazy river then look elsewhere.

Here you will encounter crocodiles, water snakes and gun-happy white hunters, and you have only a handful of spears and a raft for protection.

The action centres around an ecology-crazed native who is conserving stocks of two species of "krocotiles" which vary from ferocious to just plain mean and nasty. He both culls them and protects them from the hunters while taking care to keep out of their way. You control him from the keyboard, either on the raft, swimming or on floating logs, and hurl spears at the inhabitants to score points.

Skill and volume levels can be controlled and graphics and sound were quite impressive. If you have played Loch Ness Monsters, some similarities may be apparent but there is probably scope for more variations here. The krocatile life cycle is acted out from hatching, through living on water snakes and finally mating and producing the next generation. If you have an interest in nature programs and are not too squeamish I recommend splashing out for this one.
