Linked reviews are available to view in full on this site.
Death Satellite (A 'n F) (Oric 16K)
Awkward to start with... With a little more work, this could become a very good adventure.
Caveman Adventure (Micro Power) (BBC Model B)
I would have preferred not to have been forced into an endgame situation as quickly, and as often, as I was at first.
The Valley (ASP) (Spectrum 48K)
A wide range of monsters and weapons, and randomly-generated layouts ensures a different game each time.
Scanner 13 (Bamby) (Dragon 32/64)
Response to the player is good, screen display and error-trapping is excellent.
Zodiac (Tansoft) (Oric 1/Oric 48K)
It will take many more hours of keyboard work before Zodiac is eventually solved...
Ringo (Elephant) (Spectrum 48K)
This game is sufficiently well-devised to remain addictive, even if it is slow.
Cyrus Is Chess (Intelligent) (Spectrum 16K/48K)
The problem levels allow you to instruct the computer to look for a mate in one, two or three moves, according to the level set, or find by analysis that this is impossible.
Chess (Micro Power) (BBC Model B)
Apart from the fact that I was soundly beaten on every game, the program is very useable and well presented.
Quiz Pack (Shards) (Dragon 32)
The display is clear and uncluttered, and clues are printed when the cursor is set at the head of a word.
Lord Of The Balrogs (Supersoft) (Commodore 64)
Offers excellent value and will occupy you for many an hour.
Franklin's Tomb (Salamander) (Dragon 32)
Salamander has maintained its usual high quality but it is a bit pricey.
The White Barrows (ASP) (Spectrum 48K/128K)
Very easy to be killed... It's not an adventure you will get attached to... Could do with more action and moving graphics.
Troll King (Lantern) (TI99/4A)
A lot of thought has obviously gone into this program, and it has been cleverly written.
Escape From Perilous (English) (Atari 400/800)
Three levels... An idea that needs developing considerably before it will provide a good game.
4 Letter Word (Soflow) (Atari 400/800)
The game is fun and could be of educational value for small children, but more should be expected of a program designed for the 16K Atari.
World Geography (Superior) (BBC Model B)
Consists of a straight forward question and answer session which first ask if you want to answer questions on capitals, populations or both.
There must be a ready market for tiny tots' software, but it has to be more stimulating than this.
Chemistry (Micro Power) (BBC Model B)
The whole game is repetitive and rather trivial so unless there are two or more players, one would quickly tire of it.
Highflyer (G.T.M.) (BBC Model B)
A limited but useful program for junior/middle schools or remedial classes.
