Escape From Moonbase Alpha (Micro Power) (BBC Model B)
Despite the difficulty, the brilliant graphics, the sound and ease of use, make this a highly entertaining and addictive game.
Fruit Machine (Superior) (Acorn Electron)
Space Invaders quickly ousted the fruit machines from the arcades, so it seems strange to me that a fruit machine simulator should try to make an inroad into an Invader dominated market.
Doctor Who: The First Adventure (BBC Soft) (BBC Model B)
The quality of sounds and graphics varies from game to game but is fairly good.
Road Runner (Superior) (BBC Model B)
A fast, smoothly animated and well thought out arcade game, with plenty of scope for you to progress through the levels.
Text Print Extension (Ratco) (BBC Model A & B)
An extremely useful and versatile utility, well worth its low price.
Time Lords (Red Shift) (BBC Model B)
An excellent game for the specialist market for which it is intended.
Demon Decorator (Micro Power) (BBC Model B)
The time delay between pressing the keys and the computer responding really took some getting used to.
Oblivion (Bug-Byte) (BBC Model B)
Though not particularly original, Oblivion is a good example of its type of arcade game.
Frogger (Superior) (BBC Model B)
I particularly liked the turtles which occasionally duck beneath the water and the sound of disintegration when the frog is struck by a moving vehicle.
Snapper (Acornsoft) (BBC Model B)
In summary, a totally excellent, classic game. Please note that this is the Version 1 Snapper; the Version 2 differs slightly.
Desk Diary (Acornsoft) (BBC Model A & B)
A good package from Acornsoft. That is, if you want this sort of utility. The Address Book does come in very useful around Christmas time!
Gunsmoke (Software Invasion) (BBC Model B)
The excitement of a wild west shoot out...! A very successful game with helpful instructions and every care taken with the layout and use of colour.
Konexion (M&M) (BBC Model A & B)
I would have preferred to see more than one skill level offered, as I feel a beginner may be put off by the computer's good play: it beats me nearly every time!
The game is easy to play, and is well explained in the title page, but is rather dull and can get boring quickly.
Android Attack (Computer Concepts) (BBC Model B)
I would have liked to see a joystick option or at least the chance to change keys but apart from this it is a good well thought-out game. Well done Computer Concepts!
Painter (A 'n F) (BBC Model B)
I enjoyed the game very much and if you like such machine code graphic games then this one could be for you.
Planetoid (Acornsoft) (BBC Model B)
This game is written entirely in machine code, and the speed and smoothness is stunning!
