Flight Of The Intruder (Mirrorsoft)
Intruder is sufficiently different and has enough new elements to make it an exciting, pulse-heightening experience. With a bit of practice, you'll get a great deal from it and enjoy yourself immensely.
Excellent fun if you like baseball, and highly exciting in the two-player mode where you can see your opponent grimace with every lucky shot.
Jimmy White's Whirlwind Snooker (Virgin Games)
Spectacular! You'd think you were looking at a real table, with real balls. Nothing jerks, nothing slows down or moves erratically. Balls cannon around, gradually tailing off as they run out of steam.
Unique among god-games - there's nothing that combines strategy and enjoyment so well.
The very best thing about this game... It's fun - a feature which could easily have been lost amid the wealth of detail. If you have even a slight passing interest in golf, get this and you'll be addicted for weeks.
For those who like arcade shoot-'em-ups with tactics, this could be right up your street. It has a sort of manic quality to it.
However critical you may be, you can never find much wrong with a Bitmap Brothers game, because they always manage to deliver the goods. And this is their best game yet.
Challenge Golf (On-Line Entertainment)
If you're after a decent golf game, this isn't it. Just be thankful that there are plenty of others around which are.
The graphics are nicely drawn and colourful - though the cars themselves are a bit of a cop-out - and there's nothing wrong with the animation.
This might be a very good game if it wasn't for the control system. The trouble is that everything combines to make life hell, and playing the game is just a smidgen too difficult to be fun.
Footballer Of The Year 2 (GBH)
A weird hybrid of management games... The concept just doesn't include enough to do to keep you interested for any length of time.
Not exactly Gremlin's finest hour. This game is devoid of any originality, gloss or interest. The graphics are poor and badly animated and there's simply nothing here at all to make you want to play.
