Catalypse (Genias) (Commodore 64/128)
A quintessential shoot-'em-up; an example of the genre at its very best. It feels like a game that has been tried and tested countless times, checking the position and potency of power-ups.
Potsworth And Co. (Hi-Tec) (Commodore 64)
A big multi-level platformer with Hanna Barbera characters. The sound and graphics certainly do their job, although they're not totally amazing.
The Jetsons (Hi-Tec) (Commodore 64)
Dull, repetitive gameplay. Dull, repetitive gameplay. Dull, repetitive gameplay. By now, you should be getting the point.
Jonny Quest (Hi-Tec) (Commodore 64)
This is a big game. There's a scuba-diving section later on, and various electric doors, lifts and robots to overcome. It's divided into six levels, all with unique characteristics. However, its empty screens give the game a sort of hollow feel... and you only get one blimmin' life!
Super Seymour Saves The Planet (Codemasters) (Commodore 64/128)
A remarkably playable game that you won't finish in double-quick time. Practice, though, makes perfect.
Double Dragon II (Tronix) (Commodore 64/128)
One of the old school of beat-'em-ups, where the characters don't actually seem to hit each other. The collision detection is a bit dodgy, to say the least.
Diplomacy (Virgin Games) (Commodore 64/128)
This one's not for the arcade player. It's a long, detailed game which will test your brain (just like history lessons at school). But it's certainly not bad.
Rick Dangerous (Kixx) (Commodore 64/128)
No other platformer has got the smooth graphics, the large levels and the excellently set traps of Rick Dangerous!
Titanic Blinky (Zeppelin Games) (Commodore 64/128)
A good game... The graphics aren't bad, Zeppelin has gone for the cutesy look, but sadly Blinky skates around rather than walking, and the collision detection can be a bit dodgy.
