Supremacy (Virgin/Melbourne) (Commodore 64)
Probably the most advanced and exciting C64 strategy game in the world.
Shadow Dancer (U. S. Gold) (Commodore 64)
A highly polished and challenging game that no-one can really afford to miss.
Loopz (Audiogenic) (Commodore 64/128)
The long-term addictiveness of Tetris, say, is missing, but if you still haven't had enough of puzzle games, you could do a whole lot worse than splash out on a copy of Loopz.
Back To The Future III (Image Works) (Commodore 64/128)
The graphics throughout and particularly the sprites are bold, big and very well animated. This, coupled with above average sound and gameplay, makes BTTF III seriously worth considering.
After Burner (The Hit Squad) (Commodore 64/128)
A very good conversion of a decidedly second rate arcade game means you should only consider this if you're already obsessed with adding it to your collection.
Continental Circus (Mastertronic Plus) (Commodore 64/128)
Don't bother. It's a very basic 3D racing game with competent graphics, average sound and disastrously tedious gameplay. You can be doing well only to come a cropper because you were positioned a pixel out of place.
Wacky Darts (Codemasters) (Commodore 64/128)
I like this. The graphics are amusing and the control method of your throwing hand provides a surprisingly accurate translation of the real game. It's one of those games you'll keep coming back to whenever you need cheering up.
CJ's Elephant Antics (Codemasters) (Commodore 64/128)
An absolute giveaway. The graphics are colourful, cartoony and follow the theme of each level very well. There are four large end-of-level guardians and enough puzzles to keep you occupied for weeks. An original product with the polish and playability normally associated with full price games.
R-Type (The Hit Squad) (Commodore 64/128)
An appallingly crap loader aided and abetted by depressingly difficult play means C64 owners have missed out on one of the all-time classics.
Warlock The Avenger (Millennium) (Commodore 64)
Challenging, frustrating and a lot of fun. Two-player mode is particularly good, but even as a solo player you'll have hours of enjoyment figuring out all the traps and annihilating your enemies.
Gremlins 2 (Elite) (Commodore 64/128)
Gremlins 2 is challenging and there are several puzzles to solve but in the main it's all a little too difficult, frustrating in fact. There's also a lack of variety between levels, making it a bit repetitive.
Cluedo Master Detective (Virgin Games) (Commodore 64/128)
More suspects, rooms and weapons than the original. It's a lot of fun for solo players, but the only trouble with this computerised version is, it's too easy to win.
Super Monaco Grand Prix (U. S. Gold) (Commodore 64)
If you're looking to get this, get it for the speed and the lastability. It's not a copy of the coin-op, but if it's racing action you're after, Super Monaco Grand Prix does deliver.
Fists Of Fury Edition 2 (Virgin Games) (Commodore 64/128)
A bit of a motley crew here. Shinobi is the real highlight, followed closely by Dynamite Dux. But that doesn't really justify forking out the money on what is basically a hotch-potch of games that have already had their day.
The System 3 Premier Collection (System 3) (Commodore 64/128)
This is excellent. The worst game here is Dominator and even that is by no means bad.
Coin-Op Hits II (U. S. Gold) (Commodore 64/128)
You won't be too disappointed with this. Apart from Vigilante, which is dreadful, the games range from pretty good to excellent.
Grand Prix (D&H) (Commodore 64/128)
Not a bad management game... but I can't recommend it with its current limitations, namely high price, poor presentation, dire visuals, lack of sound and noticeably dated gameplay.
The Mighty Bomb Jack (Elite) (Commodore 64)
With above-average presentation, slick controls and classic gameplay, it would be a crime not to give The Mighty BombJack our highest accolade.
