Kane

The dying gasps of a software house's support for the BBC is never pretty and, in Mastertronic's case, there is no suggestion that they will go out with a bang.

With two more programs to go before BBC support ends, this is a typical budget offering with flashes of fun and acres of boring, predictable gameplay.

Taking the part of a sheriff in the wild west, you must shoot down a selection of birds in order to trade peace tokens with the indians; these tokens gain you bullets to use in later levels where you must shoot hiding outlaws; etc etc.

Basically, the game is very non-outstanding. Competently and adequately programmed, it just fails to excite on any level. Certainly worth £1.99, but only just.
