This will keep fans of the genre happy for hours - it beat me on the simplest level - and might just be the scenario to attract new younger users to try a war game.

Turbo Esprit (Durell) (Spectrum 48K)

The gameplay is not immediately addictive but does grow on you with time. And the graphics of the urban landscape make a fittingly stark scenario for your mission.

Who Dares Wins II (Alligata) (Spectrum 48K)

This is a frenetic create-your-own-carnage game with enough action to satisfy those who revel in the alone-in-the-war-zone type of game.

Jock And The Time Rings (Atlantis) (Spectrum 48K)

I can't say that this game exactly enthralled me, but for £1.99 it's a reasonable, if rather dated, game.

Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes (Global) (Spectrum 48K)

Killer Tomatoes is quite a complex, and very professionally produced game, that should keep you occupied for quite a while.

Incredible Shrinking Fireman (Mastertronic) (Spectrum 48K)

Small in scope and small in ambition, Incredible Shrinking Fireman certainly won't fire the imagination but if you want a game that will be mildly diverting for an hour or so, it will do - at a stretch.

Ping Pong (Imagine) (Spectrum 48K)

If, after all this time, you're still interested in playing ping-pong on your computer then this is almost certainly the best version around.
