Linked reviews are available to view in full on this site.
The Never-Ending Story (Ocean) (Spectrum 128K)
The colour graphics add something to this game, making it an enjoyable, if standard, adventure.
The Ludoids Adventures (Bug-Byte) (Spectrum 48K)
A very enjoyable and entertaining game, with nice touches.
The Quest For The Holy Grail (Mastertronic) (Spectrum 48K)
A very average game with touches of humour and outdated graphics.
Gladiator (Domark) (Spectrum 48K/128K)
If single combat games appeal to you, Gladiator should provide you with many hours of swashbuckling pleasure and if you want a duelling game with that extra element of difficulty then definitely take a stab at this one.
Sweevo's World (Gargoyle Games) (Spectrum 48K)
The outstanding feature of Sweevo's World is the warped sense of humour it displays.
Spellbound (Mastertronic Added Dimension) (Spectrum 48K/128K)
If Spellbound is an example of the standards that Mastertronic's Added Dimension games will set, then they're going to be worth every penny!
For those who like a real challenge in the best of computing gaming, this is a must.
Swords And Sorcery (PSS) (Spectrum 48K)
Well worth the wait. I really enjoyed it and had some fascinating and humorous conversations with some rather strange beings.
Beach Head II (US Gold) (Spectrum 48K)
The machine plays a mean game in the one player mode and should provide a challenge for the most ardent arcadian.
Gyroscope (Melbourne House) (Spectrum 48K)
Brilliant. One of the state of the art programs awarded our rare six star award.
I, Of The Mask (Electric Dreams) (Spectrum 48K)
One for those who enjoy fast thinking, frustrating games.
Potty Professor (Software Farm) (Spectrum 48K)
This is an unusual program which will appeal to the lateral thinkers among you and to those of you who enjoy tinkering around with mechanical things. You'll need a lot of patience though.
BC's Quest For Tires (Software Projects) (Spectrum 48K)
Although a fairly unsophisticated game, I found that I had spent an unusually long time 'testing' it... and I have gone back to it a few times since.
Grumpy Gumphrey Supersleuth (Gremlin Graphics) (Spectrum 48K)
If you loved Everyone's A Wally, you'll probably enjoy this one.
Fantasia Adventure (SB Software) (Sinclair QL)
A very good game for adventure lovers, atmosphere is well created and some of the problems are quite difficult.
Steve Davis Snooker (CDS Microsystems) (Sinclair QL)
The only really hard parts are selecting your spin and your power, but when you get used to it it becomes more easy to judge.
Waterloo (Lothlorien) (Spectrum 48K)
For what appears a simple, slow, intellectual exercise I found it unaccountably gripping and addictive.
3-2-1 Trivia Quiz (TBD) (Spectrum 48K)
It is realistic in that the game has the same effect on me as the TV show... I fell asleep!
Rothman's Football Quiz (Cassell) (Spectrum 48K)
A good example of how the quiz can be implemented on a computer and a must for football fanatics.
Endurance (CRL) (Spectrum 48K)
I find the arcade simulations of motorcycle racing unsatisfying but the program seemed to produce all the atmosphere and excitement of the track.
Geoff Capes Strongman (Martech) (Spectrum 48K)
This is something a bit different... It succeeds on the whole; the graphics are not as detailed as in some varieties of this game, but the slightly more varied gameplay and extra thought required make up for it.
