The whole thing's been put together with loving care and a spot-on attention to detail... It's smart, maddening, playable, addictive and big.

Platform, jungle fun for the younger Spec-chum. It's easy to grasp and the graphics are clear and quite cute in their own way.

Taking the human element out of Dungeons and Dragons is a bit silly.

A worthwhile buy for the teenies in your life. It's fast and frantic, and very playable in the short term.

Ice Station Zero (GI Games)

If the player didn't have to search for the exact words to overcome most problems, I think the game would be more suited to a beginner. As is, it's a much more formidable challenge than it should have been.

Indiana Jones And The Fate Of Atlantis (US Gold)

It's full of puzzles to solve and levels to crack, but unfortunately death comes too easily. Shame really, this could have been a stonking Megagame.

Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge (Kixx)

Chase HQ aside, Lotus Esprit is probably the best driving game you'll pick up on budget.

Midnight Resistance (The Hit Squad)

Both visually and spiritually, this is one of the closest arcade-to-Speccy ports you'll ever have the joy of encountering, and if you've ever liked to shoot things, get out there and buy this game right this minute.

Multimixx 5 (Kixx)

You probably won't be able to wipe the smug grin off your face knowing what a bargain you've just picked up in the form of this compilation.

Myth (Kixx)

A fable of mighty proportions. Everything about it tells you that the programmers paid attention to detail and what really sets this game apart from the pack is the superb animation.

Navy Moves (The Hit Squad)

This is one aggravating game... Most people won't get past the incredibly irritating first section where you have to navigate a jittery speedboat across a choppy sea littered with deadly mines.

Peneless/Toot 'n' Come In (Ivysoft)

The prize is worth winning, and the games are worth owning too. Buy it now!

The Pyramid (GI Games)

You'll undoubtedly enjoy playing this game for what it is, pure and simple fun.

Rescue From Atlantis (Summit)

A game best suited to quick-fingered shoot-'em-up fans with a special fondness for cartography.

The Shoe People (Gremlin Graphics)

A big bundle of spanky educational software with a thick coating of cuddly fun.

St. Dragon (Kixx)

If you've got R-Type, go and play it instead. Forget all about this dross.

Tilt (Linel)

The atrocious controls kill the game stone dead. I'm sorry, but they just do.

Turrican II (Kixx)

This sequel seems to be the original Turrican seems to have snazzed it up in terms of presentation, but at too high a cost - the game just isn't fun to play.

Vendetta (Kixx)

Dogged perseverance eventually gets you into a reasonably lively driving-game shoot-'em-up sequence, but it's a short-lived respite.

The Violator Of Voodoo (Zenobi)

Another fine example of a serious, yet playable, adventure by an author who knows how to entertain and educate at the same time.
