Really a "love it or hate it" game - and I love it! There are a lot of really nice touches throughout, coupled with truly stylish graphics and sound effects.
3D Pool (Mirror Image) (Amiga 500)
Very smooth stuff... except for the disrupting fact that most of the time you can't see the whole table.
Das Boot (Mindscape) (Amiga 500)
Works perfectly... Far more than just a 3D shoot-'em-up... Das Boot is to submarine games what Red Baron is to WWI flight sims.
Cadaver: The Payoff (Renegade) (Amiga 500)
What makes this levels disk so worthwhile is that designing the original game seems to have been very much a learning experience for the Bitmap Brothers, with resultant improvements in almost every department becoming apparent here.
Carrier Command (Mirror Image) (Amiga 500)
A technically accomplished masterpiece of its time. Dedicated players will be rewarded with a long-term stretch of rivetting - and ultimately rewarding - action.
Chuck Rock (Core Design) (Amiga 500)
If you don't take your computer too seriously, you fancy a great laugh and lashing of stomping, puzzle-solving and general fun and chaos, then this is definitely the game for you.
Crystals Of Arborea (Silmaris) (Amiga 500)
If you're prepared to spend some time establishing exactly how to begin, you may find Crystals Of Arborea rich and rewarding.
This is one amazing text adventure. The author, Alan Grant, is highly regarded in the world of comics and his humour and style is clearly evident here.
F-15 Strike Eagle II (MicroProse) (Amiga 500)
Another highly polished and very playable simulation... Some of the smoothest 3D routines you're likely to find in any flight game.
International Karate Plus (The Hit Squad) (Amiga 500)
An excellent purchase, well worth getting to involve your mates in some seriously violent fun.
Jahangir Khan's World Championship Squash (Krisalis) (Amiga 500)
It doesn't take too long to get the hang of things and as soon as you do, you're in for one of the best ball sport games to come along for a long time.
Nam: 1965-1975 (Domark) (Amiga 500)
A challenge that anyone with an interest in strategy or the manipulation of history should take up.
North And South (Action 16) (Amiga 500)
It doesn't take much to figure out how to beat the computer in each fight and subsequently, to win the game. A greater challenge comes from a human opponent, but even this doesn't last too long.
Skull And Crossbones (Domark) (Amiga 500)
It's not the greatest or most polished beat-'em-up in existence, but it's a good enough game to keep you entertained for a while, particularly when the blood begins to fly.
Never a classic, Tiger Road now can't hold its own amongst the likes of Turrican and Gods.
Viz: The Computer Game (Virgin) (Amiga 500)
As a game, it's actually most likely to appeal to exactly the sort of people who aren't allowed to buy it - kids. Adults should consider sticking their nose in a Viz comic instead.
