The Story Of Thor (Sega) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
This is one hell of a game. There is literally nothing on the Megadrive that deserves your money more than this.
Rockman Mega World (Capcom) (Sega Mega Drive (JP Version))
Capcom roll out the 'classics' but they're starting to look a bit like crusty ones. Plenty of levels to get your rocks off though.
Metal Head (Sega) (Sega 32X (EU Version))
A thoughtful shoot-'em-up that shows the promise of the 32X. Technically sound and more than fun to get to grips with.
Road Rash 3: Tour De Force (Electronic Arts) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
It's still ticking over, but this is one engine that needs to be stripped down next time, and not just overhauled.
The Great Circus Mystery (Capcom) (Sega Genesis)
Two years ago this would have been fine. Nowadays it looks as creaky and dated as Michael Mouse himself.
Samurai Shodown (Sega) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
Not completely awful, but too flawed to recommend and a very average coin-op conversion. Better beat-'em-ups like Mortal Kombat II are around.
Golf Magazine: 36 Great Holes (Sega) (Sega 32X (US Version))
Not a serious improvement on EA's three year old standard, and that's now much cheaper than this 32X-only number.
Kawasaki Superbike Challenge (Time Warner) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
Superior programming results in a highly realistic racer... Fourteen standard tracks, eight hour endurance track, and all of the play options are a good sign for a long life.
Mega Swiv (Time Warner) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
Dated and overpriced. Whilst it does fill most shoot-'em-up quotas, it looks and plays like a recently dug up fossil.
Corpse Killer (Acclaim) (Sega CD (US Version))
A reasonable FMV effort with even some elements of humour, but it couldn't hope to be anything more than a two-dimensional real actor blaster.
Ristar (Sega) (Sega Game Gear (EU Version))
Admittedly, the concept is derivative of almost every other platformer going, but it's still damned good fun and the graphics will certainly give haggard-looking handhelds a bit of a facelift.
The Smurfs (Infogrames) (Sega Game Gear (EU Version))
One of the best platforms I've seen make it to a handheld... Virtually identical to the Master System game with all the levels and features which made that game so good.
Space Harrier (Sega) (Sega 32X (EU Version))
Another 32X non-starter. Why this was considered for release is beyond us.
After Burner (Sega) (Sega 32X (US Version))
Yes it is indeed arcade perfect, but some eight years old, dated and shallow.
Unnecessary Roughness (Accolade) (Sega Genesis)
Acceptable for those interested in stats, but shabby in terms of entertainment value.
