This item contains versions of Karate Combat for BBC/Electron and BBC B/B+/Master 128/Master Compact.
A very enjoyable game. However, the lack of an energy bar for the opponent was a bit off-putting. Read Review
Great fun! With an option of practice mode or two player action, you need to remember sixteen manoeuvres and then coordinate them in a flurry of martial arts madness. Read Review
The graphics are nicely defined and well animated and the controls are relatively easy once mastered. Read Review
If you're a martial arts freak, you've got a choice between Karate Combat and Yie-Ar Kung Fu. You'll probably enjoy both these efforts but I think Karate Combat's the superior product. Read Review
This game is very good and is amongst the best of the combat simulations that I have seen on any computer. Read Review
I can't get very excited about these martial arts games, but nevertheless this version is as good as any I have seen. Read Review
Set in the realm of the mystic Orient, Karate Combat pairs you, in thrillingly realistic battle, against sixteen of the mightiest and most skillful exponents of "open-hand" fighting.
Your aim is to defeat each opponent and ultimately battle against the sixteenth opponent, The Master.
Each bout of Karate fighting lasts until one of the fightershas no energy remaining. The indicator on the top-right of the screen shows your energy level. Your opponent's energy level is not shown, although at the start of each bout the fighters' energy levels are equal. The score is shown at the top-left of the screen, and there are different scores for each manoeuvre and for frequent changing of fighting style. Your aim is to defeat each opponent and ultimately battle against the 16th opponent, The Master.
Practice Mode allows you to perfect your repertoire of manoeuvres. The two-player mode allows you to play against a friend rather than competing against the computer.
