Linked reviews are available to view in full on this site.
Startrek (Logic Systems) (BBC Model A & B)
Response is fast, even though the program is written in Basic... It demands quick thought rather than quick reactions.
Venus Voyager 2 (English) (Atari 400/800)
This one is for people with better reactions than mine, and a lot more patience.
Operation Moon (Lantern) (TI99/4A)
Although the game will interest younger players, it does not warrant its high price.
Confusion (Blaby) (Spectrum 48K)
This game seems to have quite a good potential if the plot and balance of play could be suitably redressed.
Droids (J. Morrison Micros) (Dragon 32)
There are two versions on each cassette - joystick, or an even faster version using arrow keys and space-bar.
Demon Decorator (Micro Power) (BBC Model B)
No obvious bugs were detected, although occasionally the roller did seem to have a mind of its own.
Quackers (Rabbit) (Spectrum 16K/48K)
This novel game will probably become a firm favourite among Spectrum-owning children and tired parents longing for a change from "shoot-'em-up" games.
Danger Mower (Logic Systems) (BBC Model B)
I have begun to expect more from software houses than this program gives and I feel that it is vastly overpriced.
Centipede is an addictive game and PSS provides a quick-moving, all-action version. But I've seen better - and cheaper versions.
Fast enough to give it that addictive quality and the inclusion of nine different level of play should keep you occupied for quite a while.
Invasion (Stainless) (TI99/4A)
Some comment on your performance at the end of each run might well make this more motivating.
The graphics are quite good, especially the animation of the farmer.
Torpedo Alley/Ascot Stakes (Lantern) (TI99/4A)
Although providing two programs for the price, the cost is still very high.
Rabbit Trail (Galaxy) (TI99/4A)
Graphics are good, and the game scores highly for originality and lack of violence (provided you avoid the predators).
Danger UXB (Micro Power) (BBC Model B)
I particularly liked the sound on this game, and the range of optional features, but I suspect that the novelty would eventually wear off after a few long sessions.
Shadowfax (Postern) (Commodore 64)
The program does have one fault - it gets boring and repetitive quite quickly.
Lusitanic (Coppice) (Dragon 32)
This game probably won't make the bestsellers list but I found it amusing using both joystick and keys.
Jungle Fever (A 'n F) (Spectrum 16K)
As you progress up the levels, the hazards combine in new and more terrible ways.
Manic Miner (Bug-Byte) (Spectrum 48K)
Includes robots, penguins, performing seals, Pac-people, mutant telephones, Humpties and toilets (yes, toilets, with seats a-flapping).
Stockmarket (Bamby) (Dragon 32)
A very good game of its type, although I would personally have preferred less companies and a two (or more) player option.
3D Noughts And Crosses (Quicksilva) (Spectrum 48K)
It is easy to input instructions and error-trapping is good.
I have never played real golf and I am not an enthusiast but I thoroughly enjoyed this game.
I've played it several times and find it visually attractive and highly addictive... A must for budding megalomaniacs.
Hustler (Bubble Bus) (Commodore 64)
I would say that the game could have been very good, if only it contained no gremlins.
System - 4A (Priory Computers) (TI99/4A)
The documentation is very good. I could fault it in only one respect: not once does it tell you that you need Extended Basic.
Statistics (Rainbow Research) (BBC Model B)
The program uses no graphics at all and would appear to turn the powerful BBC B into a calculator.
Letterwriter (Epsom) (BBC Model B)
Worrying was the syntax error reported on line 4360... The program stopped on every run until 4390 was deleted.
Database (Database Systems) (Oric 48K)
You could make a back-up copy, and have a simple, but effective, and flexible database system for your Oric.
