Makes for a slick, playable and extremely compelling fantasy arcade adventure.

Some may say the scrolling's a bit jerky, but that's only because it's terrifically fast - thus keeping the action coming at break-neck speed.

Buggy Boy (Elite)

If only the programmers had concentrated on making the game playable and addictive while ignoring the impressive visual aspects they'd have had an OutRun challenger on their hands.

Cerius (Atlantis)

The graphics are colourful, the Phibiatrons are carefully drawn and the gameplay is complicated enough to keep you playing for more than a couple of hours.

Starring Charlie Chaplin (US Gold)

Would be a fantastic game if only it had more variety. But all you have to do is knock people over. That's it!

Crosswize (Firebird)

If you're looking for a tougher-than-average shoot 'em up this might just be the one!

Don't waste your money on Cyberknights, you'll just be very disappointed.

The arena which could have been bursting with humorous activity just looks pale, tired and wan. Probably one of those conversions which is unlikely to hog the limelight for very long.

Sabotage (Zeppelin Games)

If you're after a simple and cheap Lightforce clone then Sabotage may appeal to you.

Shanghai Karate (Players)

Graphics and sound are the only real drawing points of the game. Overall attraction diminishes after a few games due to the vapid gameplay.

Virus (S.A.E.C.)

There is little if any strategy involved in Virus but even so, it's a well-presented, playable shoot-'em-up.

It has a copious and very neat file/voice management system that takes advantage of the DX's ability to 'bulk dump'.
