Machine Language For The Commodore 64 And Other Commodore Computers (Prentice-Hall) (Commodore 64)
Extremely well written and a good introduction but somewhat lacking in content.
Machine Language For The Absolute Beginner (Melbourne House) (Commodore 64)
For a complete beginner or the owner of a VIC/PET/C16/Plus 4 I would recommend the Butterfield book first. If you have a C64 then Davis is probably a better choice.
Programming The Vic (Level Ltd) (Commodore Vic 20)
At £10.95 for over 600 pages packed with virtually all the information you are likely to need, this book must be a bargain.
Automan (Bug Byte) (Commodore 64)
Worth buying. I especially like the dual scenario - two games in one really.
Hyper Biker (PSS) (Commodore 64)
The graphics are very well done - witness the perspective on the scrolling screen - objects in the distance move past more slowly than those in the foreground. The music is also excellent.
Water Ski 3D (Alligata) (Commodore 64)
Definitely chart material... The engine roars as you open the throttle but it's the wash of the sea spray whenever you "heel" into the briny that provides the right atmosphere.
Frak (Statesoft) (Commodore 64)
Probably more fun on the higher levels if you can maintain interest long enough to get there.
Indiana Jones In The Lost Kingdom (US Gold) (Commodore 64)
Complete Indy nuts won't be able to resist this one - but if you want a real super hero game I'd choose Conan.
Seaside Special (Taskset) (Commodore 64)
Whatever your views on the environment you will have to admit this is a hellishly addictive game with superb graphics.
The Staff Of Karnath (Ultimate) (Commodore 64)
The graphics are impressive - especially the detail of beds, carpets, paintings, trunks and other objects in the various rooms. Sound effects are disappointing.
Conan (US Gold) (Commodore 64)
It's a well thought-out climbing game that does justice to the excellent films and comics.
F-15 Strike Eagle (US Gold) (Commodore 64/128)
There's enough complexity and depth to satisfy developing would-be fighter pilots.
Congo Bongo (US Gold) (Commodore 64)
The game is really only suitable for children. Experienced games players need not apply.
Shoot The Rapids (New Generation) (Commodore 64)
Full marks to New Generation for a highly playable game.
1984: The Day After (Mastertronic) (Commodore 64)
If you already have a "Lander" program, you probably won't want this; otherwise at £2, it's a must.
Roller Kong (Melbourne House) (Commodore 16)
The below average graphics and sound and general lack of anything exciting or original make this one worth passing by.
Flight Path 737 (Anirog) (Commodore 16/Plus 4)
Good fun for those with no allusions to the real thing... Poor graphics detract from the feel of reality.
Villain (Interceptor Micros) (Commodore Vic 20)
Excellent sound, graphics, gameplay and general conception overall. You may tire physically but boredom will not be a problem.
Front Line (Interceptor Micros) (Commodore 64)
Pictorially the program features a bird's eye view of the battleground with all the characters easily recognisable.
