Ultimate Golf (Gremlin) (Commodore 64/128)
Graphics are excellent, well drawn with nicely animated... The multi-player option provides lots of hours of fun for up to four golfing folk.
Tie Break (Ocean) (Commodore 64/128)
Clever, but not outstanding. The game's graphics are simplistic but neat. Above all, the game is very playable: when you miss the ball you know it's because you're not very good at that type of shot.
Wings Of Fury (Broderbund) (Commodore 64)
For a game concept that's nearly eight years old, Wings Of Fury can still hack it with the best of them. The gameplay grows repetitive but as soon as you think you've had enough and turn off the machine, you want another go!
King's Bounty (New World Computing) (Commodore 64/128)
If you're a novice role-player and booting monsters is the way you like to get your kicks, rush out, buy it and save good King Maximus.
Yes Minister (Mastertronic Plus) (Commodore 64/128)
Excellent fun. The conversations that you have with your fellow politicians are intelligent and witty, the graphics are clear and use small digitised pictures of the stars of the show. Even the telephone ringing is realistic.
The Guardian Angel (Codemasters) (Commodore 64/128)
The graphics, despite being two-colour only, are quite satisfying. However, the game itself is rubbish, so sew up your pockets and count your financial blessings.
Ace & Ace II (Encore) (Commodore 64/128)
One of these games would be worth the budget price tag but having both on one cassette is an indisputable bargain.
Quattro Combat (Codemasters) (Commodore 64/128)
A budget compilation that's definitely worth forking out for. Four games for just £2.99 is a bargain in almost any language.
Iron Man (Virgin Games) (Commodore 64/128)
Playing with mates is good fun, but the solo trucky might not get too many thrills. Recommended for race fans.
Night Breed (Ocean) (Commodore 64)
The excellent storyline forms a strong atmosphere and provides a good game foundation. However, the game doesn't actually add up to much of a challenge.
Snowstrike (Epyx) (Commodore 64/128)
Snowstrike is simple, straightforward aerial combat, and something of a relief in these days of stupidly complex flight simulators. It's entertaining and not too much of a strain on the old grey cells.
