It isn't a graphical great, but it has so much playability that it's guaranteed to send you round the bend!
Interesting concept but, sad to say, when it comes down to playing the game it rapidly becomes tedious... The nasties quickly become inescapable.
Smarter than the average game. It has six difficulty levels too, though they're all essentially the same.
Boulder Dash Construction Kit (Hi-Tec)
A genre that's as old as the hills, but it really is a classic... A gem!
Reasonably enjoyable... The character reacts well to the controls, and there is plenty of game to get through... Ultimately it's limited by its repetitive nature.

If you follow the 'noble art' but are too sensible to climb in the ring, this could be the next best thing!

Doesn't look too bad, but first impressions can be misleading.
Guardians II: Revenge Of The Mutants (Hi-Tec)
Pretty basic by modern standards, but retains that magic indefinable element - utter playability.
Dizzy all over again, but without the originality. Good fun for kids, but tedious for the older games player.
World Cup Soccer: Italia '90 (Virgin)
Looks good, plays well, and is great fun with two players... It's fun and easy to play, if not win.
Sonic Boom is, in essence, a solid conversion of a lacklustre arcade... A shame, as the talent is obviously there but remains untapped.
Still, the simplicity factor helps you feel superior, which makes a nice changes - the coin-op was a real toughie.
Its size and toughness makes this one a real stayer, while the graphics style ensures it will appear fresh for a long time yet.
World Cup Compilation (Empire)
As a team, these boys complement each other perfectly and will provide a great challenge to anybody this summer.
