Altogether a good game, worth getting and of definite appeal to most people.
Head Over Heels (Ocean)
I defy you not to love this game. The 300-odd locations will take a lot more exploring and solving than Batman.
Classic Muncher (Bubble Bus)
The best Pac-man clone around and cheap. Very unoriginal though.
The Amazing Shrinking Man (Infogrames)
The graphics are pretty spectacular but unfortunately the game lacks overall playability.
Grange Hill (Argus Press)
Grange Hill can be thought of as an adventure game with un-ironed graphics - rough around the edges but fun.
I think anyone can appreciate the smooth animation and the clarity with which the throws are represented.
Super Cycle (US Gold)
Better than any that has gone before, certainly more addictive, and always leaving me wanting more.
A decent arcade conversion... though chunky graphics which tend to slow down when there's a screenful of action spoil the fun somewhat.
Strike Force Cobra (Piranha)
Unfolds as you explore... A large, tough game with lots to do.
I wish Ocean wouldn't advertise games before they know what the conversion is going to be like. It means they're forced to release it, however bad it is.
Sigma 7 (Durell)
It is very tough to beat and the variety of the three phases will always keep you on your toes.
Shockway Rider (Faster Than Light)
All the originality should make this another winner for Faster Than Light.
Bride Of Frankenstein (Ariolasoft/39 Steps)
The gameplay is always frantic; you can only occasionally take a breather... Humour makes it better than other so-called horror games.
Ball Breaker (CRL)
A classic game of Breakout with many improvements. The graphics, ball movement and perspective are stunning.
Escape From Singe's Castle (Software Projects)
Much more playable and with a higher skill element than Dragon's Lair yet still guaranteed to drive you up the wall!
Dragon's Lair (Software Projects)
The nine screens will test anyone, but the men in white coats will get you before you see them all.
Scalextric (Virgin/Leisure Genius)
The game would have been improved by having hazards on the track, other cars and less easy crashing. However, it's still enjoyable to play and design tracks.
Terminus (Mastertronic Added Dimension)
A good one for the mappers...! There's plenty to get through, puzzle elements and even shooting to liven up the proceedings.
FA Cup Football (Virgin)
This had little going for it last year and has less this time. It's not bad as a multi-player game (up to 8 can play).
The Sydney Affair (Infogrames)
A complicated, interesting investigation. It's rewarding if you persevere.
Into The Eagle's Nest (Pandora/Interceptor)
There are lots of rooms and different missions. But there's never any respite, so it's too easy to die.
Chickin' Chase (Firebird)
Generally, a lot of fun for little money.
It's certainly a game you should look at, if only to see the smoothness and speed of the graphics, and for many it will be an escape into a world they may not want to leave.
HRH (8th Day)
HRH looks a little dated, but (with the exception of the appalling loading screen) carries itself off quite nicely!
Hollywood Hijinx (Infocom/Activision)
Despite the old-fashioned scenario, Hollywood Hijinx is a superb game, well up to Infocom standards.
