Probably the most accurate football simulation to date and, despite some flaws, a thoroughly enjoyable kickabout.
A brilliant incarnation of the comic strip character, marred by sporadic and often tedious play.
An unusual and interesting idea that suffers from laborious, obscure and unsatisfying gameplay.
Haven't Dinamic heard of playtesting? If you want to retain some semblance of sanity... don't buy this!
Gary Lineker's Superstar Soccer (Gremlin)
Lasting appeal is limited, and winning everything on the disk version soon becomes dull. The tape version is one match only!
Deja Vu (Mindscape/Mirrorsoft)
A thoughtfully implemented, graphical adventure despite the C64's usual slow disk accessing.
Not A Penny More, Not A Penny Less (Domark)
By no means terrible, but it's no match for Archer's book and it's quite frustrating to actually play.
The topic isn't overflowing in taste, and some of the gory graphics are unnecessary, but the style of the text coupled with the atmosphere and excitement created all add up to making it a must for the adventurer's collection.
Not a bad game... Robustly designed to be quick and easy to play, with no interruptions unless you count the (ill-advised) arcade sequence.
A wargame that's worth trying, but the lack of tangible excitement, and the slow real-time, is a drag.
An unusual puzzle/shoot-'em-up, which may not appeal to everyone, but comes recommended nonetheless.
An uninspiring and infuriating shoot-'em-up which fails to realise its potential!
A poor sequel to MASK, which totally fails to convince or entertain in anything other than the very short term.
Clever And Smart (Magic Bytes/Ariolasoft)
Don't bother. The sub-games are primitive and seem to bear little relation to the main objective, and the remnants of German phrases and the obscene messages that crop up occasionally are just signs of amateurism. Badly-produced rubbish.
Overall Firetrap is great. The rubbish graphics and sound are offputting, but if you like your action a little off-beat, try it out!
A faithful and enjoyable conversion... although it does get somewhat repetitive. Nice inclusion of the arcade soundtrack.
A very straightforward Rampage clone which isn't as enjoyable as the official conversion.
Out Of This World (Ariolasoft)
A colourful and immediately enjoyable blast... which soon becomes tedious.
A brave attempt, but C64 Out Run simply lacks the original's playability and flair. Far too easy, too.
Grand Prix Simulator (Codemasters)
Not overly thrilling, but should provide some fun for Super Sprint fans.
