Planet Of Death/Ship Of Doom/Adventure Island (Artic) (Spectrum 48K)
Both Adventures C and D are very long and incorporate a cassette routine with which a partly completed game can be saved or loaded at a later date - a very necessary feature.
Reversi (Mine Of Information) (Spectrum 16K/48K)
Probably the best 'Othello' program for the ZX81 on the market, and will certainly improve the play of both beginners and more experienced players alike.
Super Glooper/Frogs (Psion) (Sinclair ZX81)
Well-written, works well and is enjoyable. At £4.95 for the two games, this cassette represents reasonable value for money.
Introducing Spectrum Machine Code (Granada) (Spectrum 48K)
If you are well acquainted with Basic then this book will make your understanding of the Spectrum, and most other micros, far deeper.
The Art Of Programming The 16K ZX81 (Babani) (Sinclair ZX81)
As a guide to the larger ZX81, it is an excellent complement.
The Art Of Programming The 1K ZX81 (Babani) (Sinclair ZX81)
If money is short and the manual is used in conjunction with this book, then it would make a quite reasonable combination.
The Spectrum Companion (Linsac) (Spectrum 16K)
A teaching manual on how to write games programs... Unfortunately, I found few of the programs in the book to be particularly good ones.
The Spectrum Book Of Games (Granada) (Spectrum 48K)
Mostly 16K Spectrum games. Mirror Tile, a tile puzzle with an infinite number of solutions and Capture The Quark are the most successful and are probably the best.
Microchips With Everything (Comedia) (Spectrum 48K)
A very worthy tome... The speakers bring a depth of understanding beyond most of us, a wealth of specialist knowledge and a deal of forethought to the questions posed therein.
Time-Gate (Quicksilva) (Spectrum 48K)
Certainly has great graphics, although the documentation is somewhat lacking.
Gobbleman (Artic) (Spectrum 16K)
If you're looking for a near perfect copy of the original Pac-Man then Gobbleman is definitely worth considering.
Arcadia (Imagine) (Spectrum 16K)
Must rank in the top three arcade games on the market for the Spectrum.
Derby Day (CRL) (Spectrum 48K)
The programmer has done a good job and... come up with a pretty good value-for-money cassette for the person who wants a quieter life than defending the world from aliens.
