Howay the lad! A clever and original arcade adventure that accurately simulates the breathless non-stop action of Andy's life. Champion!
It looks to be a bit of a rush job and winds up a none-too-frenetic keyboard waggler with six quite playable West Coast-flavoured events.
A jolly little explore 'n' shoot game that hasn't got an awful lot to do with Captain America but is fun all the same. Unlike the soundtrack.
Fairly good graphics, a modicum of humour and semi-tough maze of puzzles make this game reasonably worth two quid.
Nice graphics and jolly music, but old age may set in before you complete the game.
Flip screen arcade adventure at its very, very best. Destined to become a major hit.
Druid II: Enlightenment (Firebird)
A truly magical Gauntlet variant, demonic in its difficulty - you'll return for another spell again and again.
This is so bad it's funny. If this had been submitted by a reader I'd have sent it back and said it wasn't good enough to review. As it's from CRL and many may be tempted to buy it, I'll review it just to say that it isn't worth reviewing.
Garfield: Big, Fat, Hairy Deal (The Edge)
A good licence deal, mounds of dosh for The Edge, and a playable and fun arcade adventure for us lot. Everybody wins, really.
I don't normally go in for the pumping-lead type of game, but they had to resort to crowbars to drag me away from this one and back into my straitjacket.
International Karate+ (System 3)
Yes, it is another karate game, but with slicker programming and presentation it's well up to modern standards.
Jet Bike Simulator (Codemasters)
It's not a bad game, but it fails to capture the style and playability of the superior BMX Simulator.
Masters Of The Universe: The Movie (Gremlin)
A disappointing tie-in, presumably aimed at a younger audience. There's less here than meets the eye.
Three slightly budgety games tied nicely together in a full-price package. There's a challenge in here somewhere.
Unaddictive and unplayable... It has tried to be like Zynaps and the like, but it has failed miserably.
In most respects this is a superb conversion... But it's a shame that even the awesome power of the Speccy wasn't quite enough to pull it all off.
There was a bug in our version which let the game go its own way, jumping from one phase to another inexplicably. What with that and the excessively high speed at which the messages flash on and off the screen we just gave up trying to play.
Not surprisingly, a retread of Pro Golf with knobs on. Hardly Leaderboard, of course, but quite fun all the same.
Nothing amazingly original, but a well-tried formula that'll keep the punters happy.
Unless you're a monster fan of the original, you might just give this a miss for something with more lasting value.
A drive, dodge and shoot game. It has nice graphics but is let down by a repetitive set of hazards.
One of the fastest shoot 'em ups I've played and the one requiring the most skill. There are five levels, which you must go through twice in order to get to your final objective.
Ronnie Goes To Hollywood (8th Day)
Not the hardest of adventures, and it isn't quite in the same laughter league as Delta 4, I don't think, but it's not far behind.
This is one of the better examples of this type of game, I thought, and I know some readers do enjoy them very much, but it's not to my taste.
Whether you are into fantasy or not, the tactical aspects of this particular wargame will hold you spellbound. Recommended.
Street Hassle (Melbourne House)
Novel and fun to play. A beat-'em-up with a lot of laughs, and great animation of excellent characters (if not a lot else).
A cracking arcade adventure fresh from the creative keyboards of "those who made Monty Mole".
A pedal-powered arcade game that's a cross between Milk Race and Mean Streak. And better than both.
This game crashes! Firstly, when using keyboard inputs and secondly with a Kempston joystick attached, which the game allegedly supports. Two inputs after I started and examined a locked door, the game crashed again.
