The game itself is well thought out but unfortunately there's not much skill involved in massacring the meanies and after a short time it becomes dull and boring. Read Review
Yes, it really is just a version of Space Invaders with the aliens coming in on tram lines. But it's also a game that really shows BBC graphics at their best. Read Review
Surprisingly good to play. The graphics and sound are to a high standard, and the game represents good value for money. Read Review
This game is fast and furious. Nice, smooth presentation and enough action to keep you permanently on your toes. Read Review
The best BBC game of this year (so far)...! Read Review
Control layout is excellent, as are the full colour graphics... The circuit down which the components move changes for every level. Read Review
You can achieve very high scores by playing game after game after game, but this feature does have the disadvantage of the user losing interest in the game sooner than normal. Read Review
The verdict from my four young sprogs, who played the game for hours between them, was "Ace!". Read Review
Your BBC Micro is under attack. The components on the circuit board are attacking the CPU. Can you stave off the many marauders by firing pulses of electricity along the data lines of the 6502? A full feature arcade game that will take you to your wits' end!
The game is set inside the computer, on the circuit board itself. In the middle of the screen sits the heart of the computer - the CPU - with all its data lines. The humble components on the rest of the circuit board are jealous of the CPU's prestigious position and have worked their way loose from their soldered positions and are travelling along the circuit tracks towards the CPU. Your only chance of preventing them from reaching the 6502 and saving your precious computer is to fire pulses of electricity from the 6502 along the lines to destroy the oncoming meanies.
You must direct the pulses by moving your fire pointer from pin to pin, firing up to four pulses at a time. If a component reaches the CPU then it will blow up, and you will forfeit one life. You start with three lives but an extra chip will be awarded at 50,000 points.
Occasionally, a mains spike may enter into the circuit, travelling at high speed. These cannot be destroyed but will only kill you if they strike your fire pointer. Also at random intervals a household took will appear on the edge of the circuit. If you hit one of these you will obtain hefty bonus points but you will have to be quick or they will disappear again.
In cases of extreme difficulty, the "Zap" button will destroy all the components on the circuit at any one time. However, you will have to wait about 20 seconds before it can be used again.
For every component destroyed, 100 points are awarded and a bonus of 500 points is obtained when a tool is hit. When the game is over, you have the option of continuing where you left off or possibly entering your initials into the hi-score ladder and starting again.
There are 50 components on each sheet and on each new sheet they get faster and faster. After every four sheets, a new and trickier track pattern will appear to make life difficult. There are eight types of component: resistors, tantulum bead capacitors, polyester capacitors, electrolyic capacitors, transistors (of course), diodes, L.E.D.s and fuses and four types of tools: spanner, hammer, drill and pliers. Only you can save your BBC from destruction.
A - Up, Z - Down, RETURN - Fire Pulse, SHIFT - Reverse Side of Chip, TAB - Zap
F/U - Pause/Resume, Q/S - Sound Off/On
