A very successful attempt to make the learning of some basic historical facts a lot of fun. Read Review
An adventure in time...
Stranded 4,000 years in the past, you have to survive the perils of the Bronze Age, Roman Britain and Norman, Tudor and Victorian England in order to get back to the present. Wild animals, soldiers, priests, princes and germs are after you, and on top of all that, you've got to get your historical facts right before you can slip through the time warp into the next age.
Ages 7 - Adult (Suggested)
You are stranded in the past. In order to get back to the twentieth century, you have to pass through five ages. In each one, you must answer some questions relating to the age, and escape from your pursuers.
At the beginning of each age, you will have to answer a 'Gateway' question. From a list of five items, you must choose the one which is characteristic of the age. Then you find yourself lost somewhere in that age. You have to reach the Time Gate to escape. Before you can leave an age, however, you must answer three questions correctly. Then you can move on to the next age.
As you go along, you win points. In order to get back to the twentieth century, you need 200,000 points. If you don't score this much as you travel through the ages, you must go back into the age or ages of your choice, and earn more points.
Remember! You earn more points for getting a question right first time.
When you are escaping to the Time Gate, you can score extra points by staying in the area for as long as possible without getting caught before you go through the Time Gate. You gain points for the length of time you stay in the maze. If you don't escape, you keep 10% of the time points you have scored.
The Bronze Age
It is the year 1507BC. You are lost in a great forest of oaks. It is getting dark, and as you try to reach the Time Gate, the wolves are coming out. They chase you through the trees, and you have to reach the clearing, and the Time Gate, to escape.
The Roman Age
You have landed in a Roman fort in the North of England in AD 162. The guards have spotted you, and are coming after you. You have to make your way through the different buildings within the fort to reach the north gate, which is also the Time Gate, and your way through to the next age.
The Eleventh Century
Stranded in a city in the year 1093, you have hidden in the cathedral. From behind the alter, you can see the priests looking for you. In order to reach the West Door and the Time Gate, you must escape from the priests by running through the congregation.
The Sixteenth Century
The year is 1559. You are trapped on the ground floor of a duke's palace. Some courtiers are after you, with slim daggers and phials of poison. Can you find your way through the doors and staircases to reach the great staircase and go through the Time Gate?
The Nineteenth Century
Lost in a sewer in 1870, you are fleeing from rats and germs to make your way to the main drain and the Time Gate. Nasty things block your way, and those ceatures have sharp eyes that can see better in the dark than you can!
