The Secret Of Monkey Island (Lucasfilm) (Amiga 500)
Lucasfilm once again shows the rest of us how to do things - and how to do them well.
There's no shortage of gameplay here and, if exploring and shooting's your thing, then there's enough here to keep you happy 'til the cows come home.
Logical (Rainbow Arts) (Amiga 500)
Easy to play and, because everything is controlled through the mouse, it doesn't take hours to get to grips with.
Hero Quest (Gremlin) (Amiga 500)
Gremlin has succeeded in taking all the elements from the board game and convincingly turning them into a highly playable computer game.
War Zone (Paradox) (Amiga 500)
The idea of having two heavily-armed macho men running around causing havoc is nothing new - but for some reason it always provides excellent blasting action.
Metal Mutant (Silmarils) (Amiga 500)
Although initially it looks disappointing, if you persevere, you begin to discover the game's appeal: horrible puzzles, 40 different types of monster to defeat and a variety of weapons and gadgets to acquire.
Megatraveller 1: The Zhodani Conspiracy (Empire) (Amiga 500)
Plenty of challenge here... And a nicely-crafted game system too.
Ardent fans of the coin-op will have no problem getting into this one - others will probably only bother if they have a friend around.
Encounter (Novagen Software Ltd) (Amiga 500)
It's a good blast, but not quite the advance that it could have been.
Eye Of The Beholder (Strategic Simulations Inc) (Amiga 500)
An essential purchase for followers of the AD&D series, for people who missed FTL's games first time round and for those of you that finished them and want some more.
P. P. Hammer And His Pneumatic Weapon (Demonware) (Amiga 500)
A nice journey back into the platform game.
Shadow Dancer (U. S. Gold) (Amiga 500)
The large sprites are reminiscent of the Sega coin-op. But it's a shame that if you get stabbed right next to the exit, you go all the way back to the beginning.
RBI Baseball 2 (Domark) (Amiga 500)
One of the finest baseball games yet released... In fact, one of the better sports sims of any type.
Stellar 7 (Dynamix) (Amiga 500)
It's difficult to know just where to place Stellar 7: it's well worth taking the time to play, but you wouldn't necessarily want to keep coming back.
3D Construction Kit (Incentive) (Amiga 500)
Cannot be recommended highly enough. Even if you have no plans to become the next Bullfrog, you'll still have weeks of fun just playing around.
Blood Money (Sizzlers) (Amiga 500)
If you frequently find shoot-'em-ups too easy, or if you have another gamer handy to help you out, then this is well worth checking out.
What really sets this game apart from other shooters are the inventive power-ups which are bought at the shops, which appear twice during each level.
Hard Drivin' (Domark) (Amiga 500)
A realistic simulator that puts you behind the wheel of a sports Ferrari which can be put through its paces along either of two tracks: speed or stunt.
Miami Chase (Codemasters) (Amiga 500)
Superbly presented and initially fun to play, but the action soon becomes a little repetitive.
CJ's Elephant Antics (Codemasters) (Amiga 500)
Good fun. It offers a reasonable challenge for the price although the quality of the graphics is, at best, fair - and never particularly consistent.
Licence To Kill (Re-spray) (Amiga 500/600/1200)
Great entertainment which sticks well to the plot of the film.
