A fine collection of good ideas incorporated in good software design, particularly recommended for Space Invader-weary parents.
Garden Plant Selector & Garden Layout Planner (Cambridge Applied Technology)
Both programs could be extremely useful educationally in teaching the application of the BBC Micro in computer modelling and design.
The graphics and use of sound are good, but on the whole the game seems to lack something.
Overall, the programs are among the better ones I have seen and used, and show a welcome improvement in the standard of educational programs in the primary sector.
Plutonium Plunder (Micro Power)
The graphics are excellent and there is good use of sound and colour... It doesn't get boring either.
If you want a game with acceptable graphics, quite fast and hard to complete, then Starmaze is the one for you.
Felix Meets The Evil Weevils (Micro Power)
The characters are colourful and detailed and the fluidity of the crawling movements as the weevils make their way around the factory is excellent.
Sea Cliff Erosion (Cambridge Micro)
Although the program is aimed at 13 to 16 year olds, I feel it would be more appropriate for sixth form classes.
Extremely addictive and fun to play.
