A fast-moving game of skill and strategy
The Evil Dead is an extremely challenging real-time game of speed, skill and strategy. Written entirely in machine code. Becoming even more difficult as your score increases. You will find yourself coming back to the game time and time again... out of sheer frustration!
Based on Sam Raimi's film The Evil Dead, a Rennaisance film. A Palace Pictures release.
The BBC version of The Evil Dead was programmed by Colin Tanner.
Colin's experience with computers began at an early age. When only eleven, he purchased a second-hand and broken down Wang business system by which he was thrown in at the deep end, maintaining the machine, as well as gaining valuable experience in programming.
Wanting to broaden his experience he acquired an Apple II which he felt was the top machine in its class at the time. With this he was able to make the transition to low-level language machine code.
In 1981 Colin moved on to the much acclaimed BBC Model B. Three years experience with this machine has allowed him to produce a variety of high quality software of a high standard utilising all the BBC's capabilities.
To date, Colin has had two games successfully released for the BBC. He has also been involved in the creation of a business software package and has contributed to various computer magazines and books. During 1983 he was also heavily involved in the computer programming used in a cinema film centred around a computer. Apart from the BBC, Colin has also worked with Apple III, Spectrum and Sinclair QL during the past year and now plans to spend more time on the latter.
