Designer Ricardo Pinto says he deliberately drew on the film Alien for inspiration, and tried to incorporate the same fear and tension in the game as engendered by the film. He certainly succeeds.

One of the best features of Gods is its artificial intelligence. Whatever your skills, the game caters for them automatically.

Betrayal would make a great board game, but sadly it isn't as strong on the ST.

The Killing Cloud (Image Works)

Fine graphics, sound and gameplay combine to provide a game which takes a long time to complete, but which also involves you in every twist and turn of its racy plot.

SWIV (Storm)

It's not state-of-the-art, but fans of a quick blast are going to have heaps of fun. It's even better when there are two of you. Double the players and you more than double your blasting fun.

Battlebound (On-Line Entertainment)

Ideal for whiling away those spare half-hours when you've nothing better to do.

The Duel: Test Drive 2 (Accolade)

Forget the 'serious' racing sims and buy this one - it's the best (and cleanest) fun you can have on four wheels.

Gameplay is fast and furious and there's always a fresh surprise waiting for you around the corner.

Backgammon Royale (Oxford Softworks)

While this game isn't likely to leap up the charts, it could prove to be fun if you're into something a bit more thoughtful than alien-shooting.

Surprisingly good fun. Gameplay is fast and the control method is easy.

Axel's Magic Hammer (Kixx)

The graphics are cutesy and animation is good, although the joystick control is sluggish at times.

Fine for a five minute blast but no good for serious gameplay.
